Re: Robben

Yeah, he was incredible. Few things only. In Spain game he plays pretty much centrally with RVP dragging defenders wide and opening space. Don't see Kocsis doing such role here. In Mexico match they were on the ropes and then he went on his preffered right side and they won it.

Would still preffered either a more mobile type of striker who will drag my defence all over the place (Elkjaer again :D) or him being where he is most dangerous throughout his career - on the right.

Also, one of my favourite Baggio goals, by happy coincidence against Bergomi's Inter:

This is as close as I'll come to a hard sell as Beam's team is great and sober, man flu-stricken Mustard has little appetite for the fight, but I do feel I've got a slight edge comparing our respective attacks, with Baggio being the best creator/playmaker of the bunch and Kocsis the outstanding goalscorer in the pitch. No arguing against the quality and coherence of Jim's trio either though.

Sorry to hear that. Am having a nightmare hungover if it helps. Just a quick reply on this one.

Would maybe agree with that in isolation and if we leave midfield out which is considering the tactics significant part of my attack (and defence for that matter)

And for me as a unit:
Beckenbauer, Schweinsteiger, Robson, Finney Totti, Stoichkov has an advantage over Souness, Van Hanegem, Baggio, Roben, Kocsis, Conti.

For me, midfield changes the game here and takes it. Or gives more chance of me winning it.

Will join you in bed now.

With the awareness that in such a close game everything can affect people's vote I present Totti being at his most cnutest.

I mean, first you try to "sell" panenka to a keeper, end up looking daft and your answer is to push him in the end?
The change of his face expression is priceless

I can't argue with your reading of the game as your whole team is coherent as feck and your midfield is particularly great. I think/hope van Hanegem and Souness are good enough in any company to keep it competitive and not get completely overrun, but this is probably a match that I'd fanny out of voting in as a neutral as there's so little between the teams overall.

Pat's defense + GK are even more monstrous than the opposition's, and Baggio, Robben, Kocsis is an utterly brilliant counter unit. Midfield & double staffing on the wings speaks for Beam. Can't decide, as so often.

And Totti leaves in shame after a missed panenka in the penalty shootout... A bit smarter this time as he decides not to push Schmeichel.

Well done, Mustard. Brilliant team and pretty much perfect player fits for the formation.

All the best in the final.

Cheers Beam. Still not sure how the feck that happened, given that I was 3 or 4 votes down within about 2 minutes of the game starting and I never actually took a proper lead. Highly unlucky for you to lose this as your team is class. Onwards to lose yet another final!
