The Non-League Teams Thread - including FCUoM etc

It's been a long old road mate, shame we can't celebrate properly as sharing the good days alongside fellow fans is so important in sport but promotion is the main thing.
Good luck for you lot going forward, always had a soft spot FCUM for obvious reasons.

Such a shame that, football without fans is nothing etc...

Cheers, made a couple of decent signings already and sold 500 + season tickets. Already talk that the season could start in September...

Our fixtures are out tomorrow. Can't wait.

In other news, AFC Bury played their first game last night. Their long road back has begun.

Saturday 7 November FA Cup

FC United of Manchester v Doncaster Rovers (5.30pm) – BBC Two

Marine are selling virtual tickets to their FA Cup tie with Spurs at £10 each. They've sold about 6,400 as of now.

Any non-league fans who'd like to support David against Goliath, you can buy "tickets" via their website. I'm sure like all non-league clubs they need every penny they can get right now.

For those of you feeling like you're without a club now. Please check out my local side Weymouth.

I'm happy to answer any questions. Also, I have a radio show (recorded as more of a podcast) coming in the next few days. Guests include an ex-Sunderland player, our current left back and manager, former Welsh International Brian Stock.

I'll post it here when it's released.

Is there anybody out there thats involved in FC United and would like to give Mr a few minutes of your time? I'd like to conduct an interview as part of a project I'm working on.

The same applies to Bury fans. Please feel free to PM me.

Send me a message mate.

I'm a volunteer with FC United.

Good luck to Altrincham in the National League play offs semi final on Sunday after finishing 4th in the league. They have a tough single-legged away match at Bromley (3rd).

Sympathies to Gateshead who were 6th, they got chucked out of the playoffs at the last minute. All prospective Football League clubs have to provide a gurantee that they'll have a stadium to play in for the next 10 years. Gateshead's stadium that they've played in since the 70's is owned by the council but they are currently looking for outsiders to take over the running of it. The council said they could give them a 10-year lease but that whoever takes over the running of the stadium could re-negotiate terms. The EFL weren't satisfied with this and although the National League tried backing them up they were told that they wouldn't be accepted into League Two even if they won the playoffs. As such, there was no point in them being in the playoffs.

Quite a famous stadium at Gateshead as it's used for athletics too. Was a fairly big TV sport when I was a kid when we had UK athletes like Linford Christie, Steve Cram, Seb Coe, Sally Gunnell and Colin Jackson competing. The stadium would often be on ITV or BBC for that. A bit more recently Jamaica's Asafa Powell equalled his own world record at the time for the 100m there, running 9.77 in 2006.

Didn't even know there was a Non League thread on here!

Good luck to Alty Robins - used to watch them as a kid before getting a United season ticket, always had a United connection since several of our Youth teams have used Moss Lane as a home ground

I go to Dulwich and St Albans a fair bit.

That's terrible for the club and players.
