The next 8 games: how will we bounce back the from the Liverpool loss?

Betis (H) Win
Southampton (H) Win
Betis (a) Draw
Fulham (H) Win (but I want it to be a loss, better focus on PL and Europa)
Newcastle (a) Loss
Brentford (H) Draw
Everton (H) Win
Forest (a) Win

We'll react excellently and win all apart from Betis away. Yesterday was a disgrace but it was at the hands of a great Liverpool team that really showed up for the first time this season. They are better than us still despite their own struggles. I think ETH will get it right and hopefully never play Bruno wide again and we'll cement top 4 over the next few weeks.

Thursday is now looking like a much bigger deal for us mentally than I'd expected it to be. Anything less than a win will be concerning. I trust that ETH will have lit a fire under everyone's ass and that we'll come out strong. I refuse to believe one infamous day will have undone everything good that he has built this season when it comes to the team's mentality.

I expect us to win all of these matches, except for Betis away, where we'll already hopefully have a couple goal cushion and can rest players/play for a draw, and Newcastle away, because they'll shithouse their way to a draw at the very least, even though I do think they're fading fast at this point.

I don't want to be that guy, but I fear things may begin to unravel a little now. They're tired, and they're not going to get un-tired any time soon.

We will probably labour past Betis and Southampton, but my spidey senses are tingling... I can feel a shock defeat on the cards in the next 2 games.

So much depends on Rashford. Our only goalscorer. If he goes on a lean spell or gets injured, we're fecked. Also dare I hope for Martial to earn a week's wages for a change in the near future?

Judging by how we've responded after the previous defeats, I'd imagine well.

Betis (H) - Europa League - Win
Southampton (H) - PL - Win
Betis (a) - Europa League - draw (United advance)
Fulham (H) - FA Cup - win
Newcastle (a) - PL - draw/loss
Brentford (H) - PL - win
Everton (H) - PL - win
Europa League quarter final leg 1
Forest (a) - PL - win
Europa League quarter final leg 2
FA Cup Semi final (Chelsea rescheduled)

Spurs (a) - depends how the cup games go. If we do well in cups, probably loss. If we get knocked out of cups, bounce back win.

This is how it would look if we pass these next rounds. My guess is we'll do well in the games we should win, and continue to focus on the cups while not doing too well away to big teams as we don't have enough motivation to actually beat them away. They are hard games to win if you don't have the added motivation of there actually being something on the line in them. If we continue to win our "easier" games, then we will continue to be roughly 10 points clear of 5th. So yeah...

Betis (H) Win
Southampton (H) Win
Betis (a) Draw
Fulham (H) Win
Newcastle (a) draw
Brentford (H) Draw
Everton (H) draw
Forest (a) Win

Get through the cups, stay in top 3

Feel like the game yday has knocked the wind out of me a little, lost all enthusiasm for this season.

Our next 8 games are both very important and also very winnable:

Betis (H) - Europa League
Southampton (H) - PL
Betis (a) - Europa League
Fulham (H) - FA Cup
Newcastle (a) - PL
Brentford (H) - PL
Everton (H) - PL
Forest (a) - PL

So in the miserable aftermath of the historic defeat to Liverpool, I want your predictions. How will we fare across this run of games?

Betis (H) - Europa League = 3-0
Southampton (H) - PL = 4-0
Betis (a) - Europa League = 2-2
Fulham (H) - FA Cup = 3-2
Newcastle (a) - PL 1-0 loss
Brentford (H) - PL 2-1
Everton (H) - PL 2-1
Forest (a) - PL 1-3

1 loss maybe 2 at a push. FA cup final appearance and win the Europa. Top 4. Eric grows a ponytail.

People thinking we will hammer Betis are in for a rude awakening.
