The New Kits Thread

Have that whole collar white and it improves the shirt no end IMO.

I also prefer the detailing on the shorts to be black not red, but that's just personal preference.

I'm not convinced but it normally takes me a while to adjust to a new kit. Hopefully it will grow on me. From what I have seen so far it looks better in the pics than when the players are wearing it

I don't really like the new kit, and i didn't really like the current kit either, especially the collar. I just hope the away kit and third kit are not as bad as this, and that they make some better looking kits atleast, to go with player comfort.

You already know what the third kit is - it's this season's blue and black away.

The new away kit I posted in the United kit thread yesterday:

There have been a good few memorable United wins in white (often against Liverpool, as well as in 1991 and 1909), but yeah, generally, it's been worn in big games we have lost. Also, I'm not a fan of white kits in general and would be happy if we ditched it.

I feel the same. Madrid look great in white but I've never liked it on us or on England.

Have you seen what our away kit looks like in real life d'ed? i.e. photo or the real thing? Or was it a computer mock up like the one you got permission to post here?

We've only played one final in black (2005 loss vs Arsenal) and I remember we wore the first black kit in that excruciating draw at West Ham in 1995. We don't have a great record in that, either.

The only game in black that pops into my mind was 2007-8 away to Arsenal when Ronaldo scored a late seeming-winner at 2-1 only for Gallas to tie the game with a header in extra time. That was the season where Arsenal came out on fire and we ran them down in the end, of course.

It's very similar to the new England kit in many ways. Still a lot better than the last two white kits we've had.

Why can't we have symmetry to our away kits, just reverse the home kit like Adidas used to do in the 80s for us?

Well, if we did that whenever we had a good home kit, we'd also have a good away kit. When we had a shit home kit then we'd also have a shit away kit. Thank god we've not got that policy next season. Otherwise I agree, although Nike have done that a few times in the past.

Not definitely, but 90% likely. Every other year recently (except when we got the specific blue third kit in 2008/09), we've just used the previous season's away kit as our third kit.

No doubt there will be knock-offs produced in the far east that claim to be our new third kit though (just like last year with the black one).

It's odd that they used the phrase 'Gingham Collection' for the home shirt promos when it's the only thing that uses gingham. Odd but good!

Just because my local JJB is selling it now for £20, might take a punt in that case.

The horror is a reality...Home looks better than away but then again, anything is better than that away kit...Tequila sunrise anyone?

Wow that Barca away kit looks bad - maybe they were inspired by the Newcastle banana kit from a few years ago

Between that and the Gingham crap, Nike's obviously going out of their way to horrify the fans of their two biggest teams

Jeez, I thought we got it bad. Barca have been owned with that away kit!
