Before Jose arrived we finished what was is 7th 4th and 5th? We where not a title winning side. Jose has signed 5 starting players and a future player in Dalot. He should of built a brand new team in that time frame i.e 10 players +DDG.
He's brought in 3 forwards (one swapped), 3 midfielders and 3 defenders in his time here. All were either established players or cost more than 30 million.

It's not the numbers that is an issue. It's the players he picked, how they fit into the system and his failure to develop and improve the individuals and the team.

I still think he is the best the league still, maybe he has some ego, but which manager with tons of trophies don't ? give him another 3 years to prove himself. If he doesn't turn good, at least he is funny and give us tons of entertainment each press conf.

He should stay. People questioned him but his faith in Fellaini paid off. If he gets enough time, he will sort it out.

The fact is that everyone keeps bleating on and on about “rashford should be “CF “ rashford should leave if not played every week at “CF”
And yet whenever he is given the role he fluffs it missing chance after chance every time , he is not and will never be a CF . Jose knows this and I think his frustration gets the better of him .
If Lukaku had played the whole game and missed the chances Rashford Missed the whole caf would be slagging him off yet most seem to turn a blind eye to Rashfords failings

Lukaku has literally played game after game, and missed sitter after sitter and still starts regardless, nor get any criticism or comments about him from the manager, despite being absolutely abysmal. Rashford does not get afforded the same leeway. Also, while he has not been scoring goals himself, we do play better as a team overall with Rashford as a 9, than Lukaku. Even Sanchez is better, but of course, Jose's faves always get to be back in the team by simply doing absolute feck all, while others are benched for long stretches without even being given sub appearances, or even being on the bench. His favourite can be shit, but play every game, while others have to play out of their skin to get any minutes.

The club should give him more time for what? To build the tallest side in history and master the art of hoofball?

He's had more than enough time. Do you honestly think the football will get better under him? We tolerated this mess last season because the results were there. We've drastically regressed this season

I don't think you are understanding me. We need 10 players + DDG to win the CL and PL because post fergie the players have not been good enough.

Now the players that he brought in most of them have not been good enough so far that is entirely on Jose and that is why he needs to get the boot and we have to start again. New manager, DDG, Pogba, Martial and buy another 8 new starting players.

Didn't Lukaku get dropped for a few games? I know Jose said he was "injured" but it came as soon as Neil Curtis leaked Lukaku was set to be dropped in favour of Rashford..

I just posted about that. At least with LVG you could see what he was trying to do. And we usually beat the top teams and always beat the Dippers.

Jose just seems like he wants to turn United it to his Chelsea winning side with no or little trust or faith in youth players. I'd rather we had kept LvG for the last three years tbh. Although his performances were fecking dire at the end. I don't feel Jose has taken us forward at all.
I think Jose like Van Gaal are both past their best.

I think through all the bravado statements that Jose makes, deep down he knows he has failed here. This was his once chance to build a legacy here and he failed. All the questions asked about him have been resoundingly answered to the affirmative.

Its just about waiting for him to leave now.

Using what metric he is the best manager? Also his press conference stopped being funny nearly 10 years ago.

I can't argue with you there. I just feel LvG would have left a better foundation intended given even one more year. Meanwhile Jose is leaving us in the shit.

You clearly have forgotten the soul destroying football we played under LvG, and his sanctimonious comments about fans having high expectations etc.

I haven't. Bad as Jose is, LvG was arguably worse. What foundations? The fantastic four of Basti, Schneiderlin, Darmian and Depay? Funny how Jose's failure causes some to whitewash LvG's failings.

If you read my previous posts you wouldn't have said that. No! I haven't forgotten. The 0-1 loss to West Brom on the last day of the season was the worst game I saw at OT. However the 3-0 against Liverpool the same season was amazing!

He always lifted the team for the big games and especially against the Dippers. Mourinho hasn't done that once.

Feck, LvG had us playing some dire football but at least he gave kids a chance and you could see what he was trying to do. Jose is just trying to turn us in to his title winning Chelsea side.

During LvG's reign, the big teams had Rodgers, Wenger and Pellegrini as managers and were underperforming. And Chelsea were shite in his 2nd season. Klopp was just getting started in his 2nd season as well, and schooled LvG in the EL, despite a freak Rooney goal giving us the win at Anfield in the league.

Jose's had to deal with Guardiola, Conte, Klopp and now Sarri/Emery. The teams are much stronger bar Spurs who have remained more or less the same.

EDIT: As for youth, LvG was just chucking them in anyhow to see if they could save his job, as the senior players were not getting on board with his instructions. It isn't the right way to play youth.

No doubt he has been brilliant in the past. However, to keep pointing to how good he has been is delusional and purely a tactic to deflect the rubbish that he manages today.

Even if he wins the Champions League through sheer luck he should be sacked.

It is this false hope that kills you, does not it? Of course, anything is possible in football, but I do not see us knocking out Barca, Real, City, Bayern. Then we have the likes of Dortmund, Pool and Atletico Madrid who are very very tough opposition as well. I'd not mind a miracle though.

This despite enormous resources and facilities even victories now seem to be hard-fought, scrappy, tumescent affairs. A number of fans I've spoken say they just go to games as a matter of habit or due to having already paid for the matches.

The club needs to seriously act and write off this season and whatever compensation costs in getting rid of Jose. If not they will pay a heavy price with our few best players leaving and young players stagnating. If not sacking Jose is due to financial penalties then Woodward should realise the asset value of players is declining by the match, and sponsors will think hard about the amounts they pay in future.

^^
That is surely a medical diagnosis - delusion of grandiosity.

I don't know if there's a quick fix for that, probably there's none.

I just don’t understand how the board can’t see the bigger picture financially and the scars it will leave behind the longer they let this gaping wound grow - it is mismanagement of the highest order. We need to see mass scale protests by the fans to force their hands. I genuinely think we can finish top 4 with a strong run in second half of the season under even temporary new management.

Nah, I still don't agree. I want our new manager to able to improve existing players as well as identify good additions. He shouldn't need 8 starters just to challenge for the league. 3/4 starters and the odd squad/young player or two or two should be enough to challenge if he does his job really well.

The idea is that no team is without holes. City had Delph as LB for majority of last season. Their CBs are not what people would consider top class - not Otamendi and Stoned. But they perform superbly. Liverpool are challenging with Wijnaldum, Milner and co. SAF won the league many times with some good-ish players starting.

Who though?

Who gives a feck at this point.

I saw an amusing Mr Blobby video the other day. He can definitely knock some water bottles over and give us all a laugh. Maybe he’s available? Noel’s in the jungle, we could probably get a good deal, an all.

A new manager can get this United team competing for the PL by bringing a RB, CB, RW and striker i agree. By the way this current team we are talking about half of it players are post SAF.

But if you want to win the CL you need even more signings.

Thing is, Lukaku would never have had those chances to begin with. Rashford's movement and pace is what have gotten him in those chances and it's far better looking at Rashford getting into chances like thag, than watching Lukaku mimicking a cone upfront.

A bit late on board but it's good to hear that, at least some of, matchgoers are open to change.

And agreed with the rest of your post, Sultan. Right now, Woodward is acting like a quick-buck CEO who only care about quarterly book balance.

Like, anyone who genuinely celebrated that utter shit-show last night, I have no words for them....

I'm surprised one of his apostles didn't start a new thread praising the water bottle incident as being hilarious and showing that he cares etc. I really was shocked when I woke this morning and there was none.

I just changed my vote to 'NO' today!

I've been on the he needs to go mode since summer - but it hasn't done much good. The football we play is so progressive and visionary that I don't mind the defeats , the league position and the cup knockouts.

Let's see how deep the rabbit-hole goes!

Aside from the first 3 or 4 weeks in his first season, directly after the full time whistle in the Europa League final and the first 5 or 6 weeks in his second season he's looked absolutely fecking miserable here.
