Film The Matrix Resurrections

There are so many garbage films getting thrown out every year, another one wont do it any harm. Maybe it will be decent. I liked Matrix, probably due to my age when the movies came out.

2 and 3 are a big blur. Didnt one of them have this big rave that lasted for like forever just as machines were going to attack.
And one of them had Neo talking to the KFC colonel. Part 2 was so damn annoying seeing 'to be continued'. I remember everybody groaning. At least two had the Beckham twins in their nice white suits which looked cool, until they kinda were night king'd.

I mean they're in a weird position where the second and third films were pretty shite (though I thought Reloaded was decent). So there's not really much expectation or chance of them 'ruining' a perfect franchise.

I'm utterly sick of reboots and shit like that but I'll give this one a pass. Adored the first film as a kid.

As if youre all gonna skip watching this.

Lets be frank, the name Matrix alone is enough to make us all watch this.

On tje movie itself there's plenty of universe and plot to expand, it all depends on where they're taking this. But be sure there'll be another trilogy of 3 4 5 on the horizon

Quietly exited about this one. The Matrix is an all time favourite of mine. The ideas and potential in the other 2 movies are there but the story was very poorly delivered, for which directors (and maybe the studio to some extent) are to blame.

For example, the machines were never supposed to use humans for their body heat... The original script used humans for their creativity and imagination (if I`m not mistaken). WB thought that the audience will not understand such ideas and the version we see in the movie was created.

They should use one of those MIB things to erase the Matrix 2 and 3 instead. Just leave this alone.

Reboots are a reality now because it’s virtually impossible to create an original story arc that is fit also for consumption by the masses.

If you’re going to continually remake something why use different characters and a different Universe when you hold the rights to an existing franchise with an established reputation?

Nah, reboots are a reality because films are expensive and studios count on people's attachment to the originals making them buy a ticket to the new version.

Never watched 2 or 3, were they any good?

2 is mostly just people standing around in rooms talking to each other. They actually couldn't fit all of the scenes of people standing in rooms talking to each other into the run time, so in one scene Neo is standing in a room talking to someone, surrounded by loads of televisions showing Neo standing in rooms talking to people. Also they couldn't really explain the plot so a lot of these talking scenes are basically just people having an irrelevant chat. For example at one point a French guy spends 15 minutes telling Neo and Morpheus what the word causality means, for no reason. I'm not sure if this is actually a real word.

The third film is a load of shite. Basically everyone is Agent Smith except for Neo who is also Agent Smith. Then at the end Vegeta fights Goku while all of the Agent Smiths watch.

1st Matrix film was groundbreaking at the time - but Im not too hopeful of the 4th baed on 2/3 and their other works

Given their last 3 films cost a combined $442.7 and recouped $408.4 I'd have been surprised if anybody would have green lit an expensive movie by them that wasnt a matrix film in order to milk the cash cow whilst they can

Interestingly I believe its only one of them directing this time so who knows perhaps it will be a different take than before? - anyway Im sure just like when a new alien film comes out ill convince myself that its going to be good even though all recent evidence suggests otherwise - and then ill end up dissapointed again

An apt summary.

WE SHOULD JUST LET CREATIVE PEOPLE DO WHAT THEY WANT AND NOT LISTEN TO WHINEY MAN-CHILDREN TELLING THEM WHAT TO DO.
That was mostly tongue in cheek. But regardless, I think there's a massive difference between me posting that on a forum and people directly attacking cast members/creators, but w/e.

Why don't they just steal the entire plot line and look of another Grant Morrison comic and have everyone think they're geniuses again. Seems easier.
Or just adapt something this time and actually pay the poor bastard.

I don't read your long rambling posts so I don't really get what your point is here, but I'm sure it's ever so righteous.

But no, if you want one creative person to do whatever they want without being reined in, you should want them all to.

Not sure how much clearer I can make it for ya, buddy.

Just googled this. Poor old Grant, got completely fecked over.

Meh... Probably just easier to pretend neo is reincarnated and pick it up at the end of matrix 1 and make a new film from there

That Neo fanboy in the third film was so annoying.

Hopefully Neo is like Morpheus now and trains a new hero to be the one. Lots of technological advances the plot can pull from. This could be great or a great mess... Either way, they're gonna get my monies!

2 and 3 were so bad I wish they'd left the original as a standalone film.
I saw the second film at midnight on the day it opened. Or should have, it was delayed for 45 minutes so the fecking White Stripes could watch it. The 45 minute wait and the abuse they got when they finally turned up was better than the film itself.

The Matrix is quite small as an action film, in terms of locations, characters and ideas, but they're all well focused and work for the film.

In the sequels, they go so far up the arse of the ideas that they have an extended sequence of a fight with a login screen because "hacking". Did a rewatch recently and the only bearable part is the staircase fight.
