if we go public with everything you immediately see who can you save for later as nobody can pick him, this way you might pick him with an early pick as you are scared someone else could get him.

I expected more people to block the likes of Pele/Beckenbauer etc by picking them as link players (if not born in their chosen decades)
Came really close to picking Pele as the link player. Not sure why I backed out.

The way I did it is try to block players that played over a few decades and even better if they played for multiple clubs.
So many people in the same decade here... Going to be a real struggle in the last few rounds whilst the 80s/40's managers have a free run

Yea I get that, but the added advantage of the other method is you could screw someone else's decade's best players. I found that tempting and expected to happen more.
