The Lionesses: Portugal v England (Fri 19:45 on ITV) + lots of other Women's Nations League matches

10 changes in the England lineup. Gabby George, Millie Turner, Maya le Tissier and Grace Clinton all start.

England XI: Hampton, Morgan, George, Mace, Turner, Bright, Park, Le Tissier, Beever-Jones, Clinton, Blindkilde Brown.

Subs: Bronze, Earps, Stanway, Mead, Walsh, Naz, Carter, Russo, Williamson, Moorh

England freekick - Millie Turner's header hits the post and Grace Clinton puts it in. England lead 1-0

RTE whingeing about the var penalty. It was stonewall ffs.

I don't get this. Ireland get a goal back from a corner McCabe swings just outside the 6 yard box. A minute later, she gets another corner and tries to pick out an Irish player on the edge of the 18 yard box. Why not just swing it into the 6 yard box again after just scoring from the previous one??!

Wales qualify for their first women's international tournament.

A long 8 minutes of added time for the Welsh team to survive. A too short 8 minutes for an Ireland team trying to get an equaliser. Not a great football match and Ireland the better team for long periods - but in the end it's Wales who got the goals that mattered.

Tonight's other qualifiers:
Finland
Poland
Portugal
Sweden
Norway
Belgium

That was a gutting defeat for Ireland, better team over two legs but picked off on the counter a few times and that VAR peno.

Subs: Morgan, Hampton, Le Tissier, Turner, Carter, Kelly, Naz, Beever-Jones, Parris, Moorhouse, Mace, Blindkilde-Brown.

Clinton and Toone starting.

Playing at a sold out mini-stadium (5000 seater) with 500 England fans in attendance. But there's no roof and it's pouring down :o

Russo gets the opener for England from a cross by Lucy Bronze. England have had all the ball and have spent most of the match in the Portuguese half.

England still leading 1-0 after 73 minutes but nothing like the dominant force they were in the first half. Portugal currently look more likely to score.

Brief interval as Mary Earps has a bit of a lie down while her teammates have a drink and a chat with the manager

FT
Portugal 1-1 England

First half all England but one goal didn't feel like enough. Second half Portugal deserved the draw
