Interesting "change of heart with Gibson" at 18:32 when DT@Guardian announced the team 4 mins prior to that showing Gibson wasn't in it.

I think this 1 hour rule may just need to be extended.

Make that 2 people that changed their team to (conveniently) match the team posted at about 18:28.

There's no point in doing this if people are going to cheat.
 
I'm not saying you did cheat, but it looks dodgy as feck when you edit your team after the line up has been announced, albeit still outside of the 1 hour cut off point.

Like I said before, there's no point in having this game and SirAF going to all this effort if people are going to cheat.

SirAF has already pointed out he doesnt do screen grabs to make sure people arent cheating because it would increase the workload. We are relying on people to play with honesty.
 
I ran the Lineups Game in the Newbies last season and I had a three-hour deadline before matches, which was a good way to keep people from ''cheating'' or changing their lineups again and again.

To be honest, people could just cheat and not fill out the "why was this post edited" thingy then it wouldnt give a time or anything.

I do think a longer limit will be needed but more importantly we need people to play it fairly.

I don't see why edits aren't banned and everyone just quotes the last lineup. If people want to make a change then they make a new post.
 
I announced mine around an hour before the match, so I understand if you don't give me any points. But honestly, I didn't know the team beforehand, I only knew Roon and Scholes hadn't travelled.
 
Hand on heart guys, didn't "cheat" and I hadn't seen the team, which looking back through that thread wasn't official anyway.

Might be a good idea to change it to two hours/90 minutes before though.
 
I agree, for the sake of fair play the line ups will now have to be submitted two hours before kick off. I will make an announcement in the OP. Hopefully this won't be too much of an inconvenience.

Heh. I did have an edit as well, (though long before any deadline previous or current,) but largely because I was an idiot who hadn't paid attention to the fact that Scholes and Giggs were injured.

Anyone doing that is a fecking tragedy. Doesn't mean people won't. But seriously, why would you? Half the fun is being wrong! I don't think I've once got the starting XI bang on. Which is a tragedy in itself, quite frankly.

The best solution I can see is a 2 hour cut off and anyone involved that is on here around that time i.e. 1pm on 3pm Saturday games (unlikely for us, I know); just multi-quotes all entries.
