Tin foil hat on but I personally believe Rashford holds a certain sway over this club and have done for a couple of years now. Even to the extent of something minor like the club favouring him because he’s one of our own.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he was heavily involved in the Ronaldo drama last season and the apparent divide within the team.
Just confidence issue. He is an elite footballer. He scored 30 goals last season irrelevant of the fact that it was a purple patch. He has been consistently world class since his debut in 2015. These threads are no good.

From memory he’s had about two periods where he has looked world class during his time here. The period just before covid hit and moments of last season. Consistent is the very last word I would use to describe Rashford.
I love Marcus, he’s one of my favourite current United players and I’ve always defended him in the past but even I can’t help but wonder if it’s now one of those situations where it’s best for both player and club if he moves on?
To be fair, i dont think thats what he says here. I do think though, that he says something along the lines of 'why the feck are we playing long, what are we doing?'

In the last 3 and a half seasons he's scored 34 goals in the league, 17 (half) of those were last year, under EtH.
It's so obvious that something is wrong there. I'm not saying he's that special a player, but he's better than he's showing. Whether it's something in his personal life or he's just disillusioned with something at the club, I don't know.

His buddy getting frozen out and sold asap, his gf stuff, his brother, the fact he has previous form for this kind of behaviour. Take your pick. What’s more perplexing is why the manager keeps picking him when he’s the laziest and most out of form player in the league. I can’t stand seeing him play for us when this has been going on for years with him no matter who the manager is. Even under Ole who totally pandered to him he was prone to being a lazy disinterested player who would happily watch his teammates struggle and do nothing about it
Garnacho is more threatening than Rashford no matter where Rashford plays. Garnacho should be starting on the left.
Antony and Rashford are equally unimpressive. I think it's probably a coin toss as to which one gets the nod on the right.
Many argue Pellistri should be starting there but he's not shown any consistency either.
Hojlund is the best option for CF. Perhaps he got a knock and was not fit enough to start today. Either way, Martial and Rashford are not CF.
Starting with an out of form Martial and Rashford today was a dumb idea. It would have made more sense to play Dalot on the RW and play Reguilon at LB.

Anyway you slice it, it's all on the manager. He selects the players and the tactics. If the players don't feel arsed to contribute, the manager should see that and toss them aside.
ETH sure has that in him and I think it's only a matter of time before Rashford is given the boot with his current attitude and lack of intensity but he's not the only one.
he has always been exempt from criticism - he has had about 3/4 months of consistent performances since he was promoted.
he is one of the main reasons so many good centre forwards are failing at the club. Only tends to try cross or pass when he is forced into it or runs into a dead end.
Absolutely, he just needs the team, management team and world in general built to his strengths.
I'm sorry but rashford has never been world class...its ridiculous to even type it. He's blown hot and cold more often than not. World class is doing it on a constant basis, like kane.
Rashford has to do it every season. If he can't, then he is of no use to us. He has had two seasons in his career where he has scored 17 league goals. Salah for instance, has scored 19 league goals and above every single season since signing for Liverpool. This season he is well on track to do it again, with 10 goals in 13 league games so far. This would make it seven seasons in a row for him. That is consistently World Class.
Rashford is deemed to be on a similar pedestal and is financially compensated accordingly. However, it is just an illusion. A magic trick. It doesn't match the reality.

He's been moved over because he's been a disgrace on the left all season and the manager wants to give Garnacho a go since Rashford has proven he can't contribute anything even in his best position. Frankly he's lucky he even gets on the pitch at all.
If he wanted to keep his favoured spot on the left, maybe he should have tried playing well and scoring some goals.
Confidence issue feck all. I am pretty sure 90% of us here have tried to play football at some level whether grassroots Sunday league or higher. Whether playing well or not I’m sure a very very high majority of us would feel guilty knowing if we didn’t work hard enough to help our team. Everyone can have bad days but not putting effort in is inexcusable.That’s feck all to do with confidence it’s down to attitude
I’m not looking to pick a fight but I’m just wondering what the likes of @KM and @roonster09 think about this run of form he’s in, the complete lack of effort etc. I alluded to this majorly holding the team back in 2021. He’s worse now but even back then you could see his laziness and stroppy behaviour was costing us more than he was helping, of course its going to be rubbing off on the the rest of the team and bringing morale and overall effort down. I really want to like Rashford but I just can’t abide this total lack of effort or intensity.

To be world class you should be consistently doing it year by year. Since the 21/22 I've seen him play badly more times than I have seen him play well. Maybe last year was just a purple patch. I mean he stopped scoring at the end of the season as it was.
Either way he should be sold. The lack of effort is unacceptable, hopefully PSG express an interest.
ten Haag hired few Dutch mates and McLaren etc as coaches they are obviously yes men. Why didn’t he hire Jaap Stam or Van persie or Ruud (now he out of work) they Dutch they know the club and they would make sure he didn’t get away with it

One of the most damning things I can say about him is that he still looks roughly the same player he did 8 years ago. There‘s been very little development in that time and he absolutely needed to improve decision making even back in 2016.
I think the historical culture of the club is partially to blame. We have had a revolving door of managers and owners that are very passive, very money oriented and very stupid when it comes to actual football. As a result, the players and their agents have exploited it so that they can stay and get paid for a very long time putting in low effort. They throw the manager under the bus and since the owners are dumb as feck about football and tight as feck with money, the new manager is made to work with them and theres been no significant football board figure for continuity sake. Rinse and repeat.
We don’t dangle the carrot infront of them. We hand it to them either as soon as they set foot through the door or when they have their first purple patch or first sustained run in the team. Woodward and the Glazers were moronic with their contracts. They seemed to value a player’s brand over their actual quality. It’s almost like their thought process was ‘this player brings in lots of revenue from shirt sales and other add-ons, so we need to keep him’

Huh? He was world class for about three months in 19/20. That's it. An argument could be had for three months in 22/23 as well, but personally I wouldn't say he was. Good yes, probably even great. But not world class.
The rest of the time he's either been managing to get a decent amount of goals and assists while his general form has been mostly poor, or he's been downright terrible and not scoring goals or assists.
Edit: Actually, you're being sarcastic aren't you. Sadly it's hard to tell sometimes with some of the beliefs on here.
