The Impossible Draft

I actually wouldn't mind either way, cause I have many options but not sure exactly which path to take.

and on side note for the final would there be two picks or one?

Aye, don't mind the two consecutive picks as well with hopefully a few good drops from you lads.

Not possible to upgrade too much anyways :(

Nice to see Tigana making it all the way to the semis

The day Blokhin scored the greatest goal of his career.

There's feeding on scraps and then there's this. Poor bloke was completely isolated against Bayern's defense with Dynamo playing defensively - this was the away leg - leaving Blokhin extremely isolated in Bayern's half, and nothing can be possibly worse for a forward than to be isolated against a Beckenbauer-marshalled defense . There are times when you can see him surrounded by a sea of Bayern players with the next Dynamo player nowhere near sight.

Either way he put his searing pace to good use and managed to score 'that goal' whilst always being a constant thorn in Bayern's defense with his trickery and unpredictable off the ball movement.

In the 2nd leg at home he scored 2 goals but unfortunately I couldn't find a full game of that match.

Scores a nice goal at the start with a blistering run, and his pace and trickery as always troubling Bayern's defense - the run at 2.15 for instance where his run deep from his own half had to be halted with a foul from Bayern's defense, with Blokhin scoring from the resultant free-kick

Fantastic all round display for the historic double winning Spurs side. A complete dynamo, with aggressive ball-winning, astute positioning and excellent passing to boot.

Classy performance from Blanchflower, had excellent one touch passing and a real eye for a pass. However did tended to be caught a bit flat footed at times defensively but on the rare occasion it had to be said. Was otherwise solid defensively with his positioning and work-rate.

Leicester did have a player injured and couldn't replace him as there were no subs at that time, so it was unfortunate for them. However, Spurs simply packed way too much quality and it's fair to say they'd have won either way imo, despite Leicester putting up a good fight.

Cliff Jones put in an eye catching performance and seemed like a proper winger with blistering pace and trickery.

An immense Keano-esque display in the 1962 FA Cup Final. Repelled just about everything thrown at him and hardly put a foot wrong on the ball with his no-frills and excellent passing, with some neat one-twos and crosses.

Footage quality isn't too great which is understandable.

Nice display and had a good range of passing whilst being consistent and not going for the unnecessary hollywood pass and a notable defensive performance.

Just leaving these here for those who may not be following the next draft thread.

van Hanegem needs no selling or exposure whatsover, but I recall him coming under some fire in one of the recent drafts where his dynamism and mobility came into question, which seemed a bit inexplicable to me personally.

Either way a cracking game altogether with van Hanegem squaring up against familiar rival tandem of Cruyff-Neeskens. The latter, one of the most dynamic B2Bs of all time and van Hanegem had a momentous battle on the pitch with both being tasked with minding each other. Imo, van Hanegem came up trumps in this encounter, with Neeskens having a silent game, although of course it did mean that some of van Hanegem's offensive impetus was blunted.

Cruyff said:
Van Hanegem has one advantage over me. When I have a bad game I am useless. When Van Hanegem has a bad game, he rolls up his sleeves and starts tackling.

Not much to upgrade really for me, so the GK option route:

Peak van Hanegem and peak Joga .

I’m not his AM but have answered questions he’s had on some players and bounced some ideas around with potential picks (as happens all the time). First time I’ve ever seen it raised as an issue was by @Ecstatic

It was not raised as an issue, as the results stand. But to avoid future controversies, please consider yourself as his AM for purposes of this draft.

It'll be impossible to define shades to an AM role based on how much a AM contributes, and we've had cases where a person signed as AM and then disappears awol with no contribution.... so let's just avoid potential meltdowns.

Fair enough. Happy to do that to avoid any issue.

As an FYI though I’ve always asked people questions during drafts, think the last draft I asked about five when @2mufc0 and I were experimenting with some weird systems. Conversations / advice will go on all the time.

With that said happy to do as you’ve suggested above and agree the line can be quie fine at times (not that I think it particularly is here).

Wouldn't have been an issue usually if not for your timing. I remember seeing the score 5 mins before the poll closed and was level.
You are free to vote for my team though against Gio to set the records straight

Erm I’m on holiday for a couple of days. Could do Thursday or Friday, or failing that Monday or any day bar Tuesday next week.
