The impact of Brexit on the transfer market

After everything that has happened with the markets, I don't think Brexit will happen. Bush ignored all the know-nothings in his party when he decided to bail out the banks, and parliament can ignore what the Leave voters say as well.

Provided they have the spine for the political fight that will come afterwards.

Hopefully more trawling lower leagues to find British bargains ala Jamie Vardy !

We might as well accept mediocrity then. British 'talent' ain't too good, let's be fair, it will just cause an even bigger gap between English teams and the other dominant forces in football. Jamie Vardy is a good player, but he is more of an exception when it comes to lower league English players whilst at the same time, nor is he a world class talent.

Don't clubs hedge against fluctuations in currencies?? Irresponsible to not do so
Of course not, why would they ?

They operate almost fully in their local currency and their finances fluctuate a lot from year to year anyway.

Not to start a political debate, but as an American I'm interested in how the vote is being received in the UK. I've read quite a bit about it but obviously that's quite different than hearing it straight from the horse's mouth (save for John Oliver, I guess).

Anyway, I assume this a hugely polarizing topic, much like the current divide in American politics vis-a-vis globalization and immigration. Plus, Nigel Farage seems like a more eloquent Donald Trump.

Can anyone explain why it affects who signs players? I mean does the US just give out permits easier or something to allow foreign players into Baseball and the NBA?

In regards to the Epl, everything is still a little up in the air so nothing is really set in stone although it seems that it will be virtually impossible to sign any EU players under the age of 18 for say an academy due to Fifa regulations, which could hold English teams back as British talent are generally quite rubbish compared to young talents from other parts of the world. Not to add for players 18+ they must have played a certain percentage of games for their national team which varies depending on the country's Fifa coefficient.

Basically, smaller teams who are use to finding top bargains who turn to be top players, ala Kante, Mahrez etc. won't happen, whilst making it harder for the top teams in England to sign top talents as all the top English teams will be eager on getting the limited available talent, as "acknowledged" players are much harder to sign than say a player who is upcoming like Martial.

But you will need to get a visa before :-)

Depends....I am a Norwegian citizen....I can come and go as I please. It depends how Nigel Insanehead and unstable Boris manage to trick the English away from future cooperation.

Haven't they already backtracked on a bunch of the campaigns promises?

Yes Farage was quick to admit to lying, to get England out of the EU. And the uneducated, old geezers bought his lie at the expense of educated, young people. And he even stood on TV to call it a win for normal, decent people :)

Guy Verhostadt:

"FYI - In the first 8 hours after the UK referendum result of a ‪#‎Brexit‬, the UK lost $350bn, which is a greater amount than they contributed to the EU budget over last 15 years - including the rebate."

The rest of the EU want the UK to leave now as soon as possible. Milking  You must be one of those who take Farage seriously?
No farage is a moron and yes I'm aware my post wasn't up to date with the latest news which was Brussels saying they want us gone ASAP so it doesn't have a knock on effect in france, holland, Italy etc

So it's the rules from EU/FIFA causing it then. kk thanks

We'll see. Leave voters have a case of buyer's remorse, and it's becoming increasingly clear to the British public that Farage, Boris, et al were full of it. The mood has changed.

I don't like to mix football and politics but a man (David Cameron) has just lost his job over this. same will happen to Corbyn.

You can't just turn back the clock.

Sooner people accept the decision of the public the better. Why do people always have to complain? Heaven forbid we live in some third world country our sensitive souls would be in tears everyday !
