The Greatest League in the World™

Shels are not gonna do it are they? Pity

Excited to see what Duffer has in store for us if they don’t do it.

Fair play. Going to the corner on 86 mins with an obvious load of injury time seems weird.

Jesus. The vein on Lunney’s head looks ready to pop.

Find it hard to know whether I like Duff or think he's an eejit. Loved him as a player - but now? Difficult.

Edit: Came across well in interview there. Don't think I could go for a pint with him now, for what it's worth - still way too intense for that.

Both for me, Geoff. I think he’s indisputably a dose. But he’s also still Duffer.

He only scored 5 competitive goals for Ireland. Random fact, but it strikes me as very low.

He seemed quite normal tonight post match.

Weird. I knew he wasn’t super prolific but wouldn’t have guessed that low.

He did. That’s how the great ones get you.

He is a lunatic most of the time but I’ll allow him it now

Invoking Mourinho slightly more effective than when Sean Connor was managing Bohs back in the day.

The night before playing Derry City in the League Cup final, Connor gathered all the players together and handed them out an envelope each. Inside was a typed letter saying "best wishes from Steve Bruce". On genuine Birmingham City letterhead. They lost.

Would be delighted for Kevin Doherty if he can seal this cup win for Drogheda and keep them up. A sound man who's done well there without a lot of resources.

Cynic in me says Bohs had forecast a cup final in the budget so pivoted to this when we lost the semi-final but this is great to see. The rugby does this, I'm expecting a big crowd.

Looking forward to the opening fixtures this weekend.

Suspect Shels will beat Derry on Friday. The derby on Sunday will be tough to call but Rovers having an European game tomorrow night may have an impact.

In terms of the close season, Derry going for the OAP approach again is weird. Pat's are favourites to win the league, in my opinion. Melia going to Spurs was another milestone for the league. Mousset, a former Premier League striker with a goal against Man Utd to his name, joining Bohs could be fun.

I think it will be a record year in terms of attendances and viewership and general interest from media and public.

The Virgin media and Newstalk deal are very positive.

Also Derry have almost doubled their attendance capacity and Cork City will bring big crowds also.

There's 4 strong teams in contention also.

I think in maybe 5 to 10 years it will be a proper professional league with the new Dalymount and other stadium improvements.
