The greatest games of the decade

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Diablo II
Starcraft
World of Warcraft
Star Wars: Battlefront II

World of Warcraft deserves a massive shout, between 04/05-08/09 it was amazing.

It's not what it was, but it's still a very good game to this day, certainly better than most games on the shelves.

In no order:

List #1
Super Mario Galaxy
GTA: Vice City
Metroid Prime
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
Timesplitters 2

I could have put more games on really, hard for me to narrow down games

Yeah I agree, between 05-late 97. early 08 was my personal favourite period of the game. But when you realise the people you first met on the game have moved on, it just becomes a fond memory really. Plus, theres only so much time you can give to a game before you've beat it totally. Even if you haven't killed every boss, you've still done the game, in effect.

I'm pretty much at that burnout phase now where you're kind of indifferent to the game itself but keep playing purely for the people you know in game. I've never been a PvP'er though and Icecrown is a bit dull so that probably has a lot to do with it.

Super Mario Galaxy
GTA: Vice City
Metroid Prime
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
Timesplitters 2

List #2
Mother 3
Pokemon Gold
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Resident Evil 4
GTA: III

Had to do at least 2 lists to fit more in. I could have done many more lists BTW, hard for me to narrow down games
I was the Tony Hawk king amongst my friends. Quality game.

Offline:

Elder Scrolls of Oblivion - Never been a RPG fan, but this one was great
Gears of War 1 & 2 - Great games, exciting co-op action. GeoW1 is one of the few games I've played through all the difficulties on (well, except easy, but that doesn't count)
C&C: Red Alert 1 & 2 - Awesome games :D Despite being amazingly shit at strategy games, I enjoyed these alot
AoE II - Great games, still got pasted by my friends, mind. I was the sort of player who had just started building a wall, and had about 10 soldiers, when the others would crush my ass with an expeditionary force
Championship/Football Manager - Had an on/off relationship with these games for many, many years

Online:

Counter Strike - Oh yes. Love of my life, I've played this for more hours than I care to remember. 'Retired' my mediocre ass now, though. As a generally lazy and average gamer, this is the only game I've ever actually tried to get a bit good at. Co-owned a bunch of Norwegian servers and played in some half-decent clans, but being about as consistent as Nani, I could never challenge any of the really good players
