The Fresh Prince of Bel Air

One of the best sitcoms ever, probably better than Friends.

Didn't care too much for the last season though.

The best episodes was when Will got shot and where his father comes to visit just to bail out on him again.

I swear Will deserved an Oscar. Man, some of the scenes made me tear up.

You don't get Oscars for television programmes. That would just be stupid Boss. Stupid and gay. Technically.

Another of my favourite scenes is where Will and Carlton have been arrested, and Will's trying to cheer Carlton up with a sing-song.

Then this giant guy turns around and goes into full-on musical mode.

"Let my people goooooooooooo!!!!"

One of my favourites shows.

Terrific show, one of the funniest on TV. Best episode in my opinion was the one where his dad came back only to leave him again.

I didn't like the actress who played 'new' Vivian, thought the the other one was much better.

Yep I remember that one, he goes on this rant about how he's going to be better for his father leaving him, and he's gonna go to college, and be somebody, and he gets quiet, and just breaks down. I was watching that, and tears just bust out the god's wig, yo, word is bond, cause I have close family and friends who went through that.

Yeah I thought she was awful.

Up there with Friends for me...............

......... in terms of being one of the most overrated, piles of steaming shit imaginable.

That's because you like dress up and that show is black people pretending to be white people.

And "Different Strokes" was white people pretending to be black people.. :D

Fresh Prince was class. Me & my wee Sister were always glued to this show. Will Smith is a great actor, considering he started out as a rapper & only got noticed from his & Jazzy Jeff's "Girls aint nuthin but trouble" vid.. Jazzy Jeff is a legend DJ in case anyone doesnt know. You should check out his mix-tapes from years back - superb!

Where as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air was indicative of the life of the average black family in 90's America?

I dont think the Banks family were proclaiming to be the average black family man. In fact, the whole reason why Will ended up with them was because his Ma wanted a better life for him & outta the hood. Its well documented in the shows that they're aware they've a priviledged life in Bell-Air, compared to most other black families....

So leave the Fresh Prince the feck alone you gay fish.. :smirk:

The da was a bender!

Will's Da?

Cant see the resemblance in fairness..

Yeah.. that adopted 2 black kids... surely you remember this fella:

Yes I know...But they weren't white people pretending to be black people.. They were very much white people being white people...They were posh whiteys, and at the end of every episode the wise old generous father figure gave the stupid poor grateful black midget and his jive talkin' brother a patronisingly wooly suburban lesson on morality and what they did wrong....Wouldn't he?...and then they all fecked the sister.

Toward the end of her career, Plato chose roles that could be considered erotic or even softcore pornography.... her most infamous film is 1997's Different Strokes: The Story of Jack and Jill...and Jill. The movie's title was changed after shooting to tie it to Plato's famous past, but was not connected in any way to the sitcom other than through her involvement. Plato played a lesbian and the film was rated X due to sexual content.

Bangerang!
