Downloaded (bought) all the series the other day and have been making my way through it, really is/was one of the better comedies on TV. What's the general opinion of it on here?

I bet Boss loves it.

Boss is Carlton, didn't you know?

I think I watched all the re-runs they used to show on a Friday tea time.

Love it. It's one of the few programs that I still enjoy even as I've gotten older.

 I loved it!

A good programme, back in the day.

A lot of shows have tried to imitate fresh price but none of them came close except from My Wife And Kids but that got a little too predictable.

BBC2 Simpsons at 6 then Fresh prince at half past was always an hour well spent back in the day.

Quality show. I used to love it when Phil threw Jazzy Jeff out of the house!

Quality show. After I watched it for the first time, Kenan and Kel just didnt cut it anymore.

Feels lke my childhood. Watched it all the time with the Simpsons, and Keenan and Kel.

I love Orange Soda.

He was good in that thing where he lived in a toilet with a child and then became a millionaire from stalking this other millionaire.

I know that much.

I just think comedy is a far harder skill to master than looking serious or pretending to be really ill, and usually you either have it or you don't. Some actors can quite happily sail through movies playing the same intense whiny ball bag (cough Di Caprio cough) over an over and never have to stretch their genres to be considered really great at what they do...I think Smith's range is fantastic, and he's young enough to grow into a really good dramatic presence...

On that topic, Eric Bana is also a good shout for underrated ability in pathos & humour.

He was also very good as this boxer dude and the movie where he had that epic pet

This is why I dislike the Oscars so much. Comedies get zero credit.
I'm always pleasantly surprised when I see "serious actors" suddenly pop up in comedic role.

What has Eric Bana done that's funny apart from Hulk, Troy and Munich?
Disclaimer: This user does not find the film Munich funny nor the events it is based on

That movie where he played the love doctor who finally met his match was pretty shit though. That was a real low point for me when I was made to watch that. I imagine he feels the same when it comes on the tv now. Though I doubt it does. It really was pipe.

As funny as Hulk, Troy and Munich were, I'd recommend you see Chopper.

He also has a good turn in Funny People, which isn't a great film, but where he plays essentially a dickish version of himself to great effect. He started as a Stand Up Comedian.

Not a very good one it should probably be said, but there you go..

I doubt he regrets any movies as long as they meet his quota. With Will Smith you're movie is guaranteed to gross over 100m dorrars.

The year before he got 28m for doing I, Robot and then he got 20m for doing The Pursuit of Happyness the year after Hitch so I imagine he got close to 20m for that as well. One of the most successful people currently in showbusiness.

Have heard about Chopper but not seen it. It's just hard to take Australian actors seriously who didn't start out in Neighbours.

So we've got:

Leading Man blockbusters - Those ones where he runs whilst puffing his cheeks out a lot and then kills something angrily - check
Leading man pathos - Toilet Millionaire - check
Leading man biopic - The one where he looked and sounded nothing like Mohammad Ali but somehow got loads of credit - check
Leading man Comedy - That one where he helps fat people have sex and falls off a Jet-ski - check
Leading man Gay - That one where he's gay - check

So I think we can all agree, Will Smith is a brilliant actor.

The only thing missing is doing a movie where he lives in an airport.

That'll show his acting chops.

Chops.

Another of my favourite scenes is where Will and Carlton have been arrested, and Will's trying to cheer Carlton up with a sing-song.

Then this giant guy turns around and goes into full-on musical mode.
