The first redcaffers ever..

he was a classic. Couldn't even buy a clue. He thought that RoD was a Liverpool supporting bloke and he called a certain mod Marching Insect in the belief that it was a vile insult.

He also thought that Raoul was his mate

i know, i tried to follow what you were writting but get los in the middle, i guess that UTDlover would have mean something to me if i had been a poster in that time

Don't worry. he made no more sense at the time. Pure gibberish.

I wasn't a mod at the time so i registered a second alias as UTDlover.

I then made posts with randon cut and pastes of bits of his posts which made even less sense and he went ballistic. Partly because I was "impersonating" but mainly because nobody noticed the difference.

Niall killed UTDlover. after a short time. Boooo. Spoilsport ;)

i see there are a lot of posters that not only where banned but deleted

why's that?

UTDlover was probably an actual loon rather than an internet loon.

He wanted Raoul to meet him

In the early days we had limited disc and database space so we deleted unused or banned posters from time to time and deleted old threads.

We don't need to do that so much these days.

We also lost threads and posters when we moved software and server more than one I believe.

ok, have you read devilish rant against ezee cause he called her girlfriend "russian slut"?

I have indeed. They seemed to call her Olga and imply that she was a tad hairy.

Nice to see Davo being as helpul as ever ;)

From reading a lot of it, it was like the Wild West.

Now, with overpopulation and active policing, such behaviour is no longer tolerated.

I would say that UTDlover was towards the end of "The Golden Age" if indeed such a thing existed. The very early days were perhaps the best mainly because it was more like going down to the local on Friday night. Everyone knew each other and even the fights tended to be more like you would get in real life. Such things just don't last on the internet though. They either wind down as people drift off or they get less personal as they expand and change.

There is also a tendency to only remember the good (or at least hilarious) stuff. I'll bet that in a couple of years time we will be remembering the good old days of forum wars, Sphincer Modologues, Room One O Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime, Marco's arse oranges, Rossi's animated taglines, The X-Spactor competition and Noodle admiting he would suck cock if neccesary.

We might even find Presidentisal elections funny.

Possibly.

I definitely found early 2005 through perhaps July or so to be a 'golden age', because that's when I discovered the General and first started spamming it.

Even now things are drastically different from 16 months ago.

People do come and go. Which seems odd to me being congenitally unable not to post on here.

LukeChadwicksFace is quite funny, his membership has been deleted I think?
I use that username at RedIssue but rarely posting anything, only during Caf timedown.

You see how Davo has changed in the past couple of years?

Now he wouldn't bother with the ;)

I didn't bother reading the thread properly, and am now convinced Wibble has lost the plot

well, i resuscitated this thread cause i thought it would be nice to know who where the first caffites

besides Niall, Kristjan seems to be the only one still active

I once vaguely recall typing the domain name manchesterunited.com and it took me to an unofficial website with all stats and squad profile. I have a feeling the domain name directed to Redcafe. Is that right?
