The FA Cup celebration thread

I still can't believe we've won the FA Cup. It's the FA fecking Cup. It's not the Copa La Secondary Fecking Thought Cup - it's the FA fecking Cup. The "Oldest Cup Competition in the World" Cup. The "Cup Competitions Matter So Much in England That We Need Two Of Them Iol" Cup. The Feck You City Cup.

The Carabao Cup last year was alright, but it was just the Carabao Cup. It's like eating an Oreo when you know the person beside you is about to be served cheesecake covered in cocaine.

To win the game when nobody gave us a chance, to see the academy lads shining, to seeing everything tactically come together and Ten Hag being spot on, to beating the two best sides in the country to win it - and to win it by being the better team (oh, but City had 80% of the possession blah blah... And? They couldn't do feck all with it because we were that good. Feck ye's).... Aw man, I'm still buzzing. This is what football is all about.

I don't know what'll happen next season. Maybe we'll be worse, or maybe we'll somehow win the treble. It won't make Saturday any less special.

And to the folk saying "small time". Feck off. You just don't get it, do you? Need I remind you; it's the FA fecking Cup.

Stunning victory. Even more stunning is we deserved it. Congrats United! We salute you. Woohoo!

Couldn't agree more. It was not a win that we stole or got lucky with. We beat them fair and square, over 90 minutes.

Yep.This.F the begrudgers.

FA Cup has a special place in Man United's history

When it was won in 1963 it was United's first silverware after Munich Air Disaster

In 1977 beat great rivals Liverpool and stopped them from winning the Treble

1985, when United defender Kevin Moran became the first player to be sent off in a final and Norman Whiteside scored a glorious winning goal in extra-time.

1990 first trophy in English football for Ferguson

1994 and 1996 the double won after winning finals against Chelsea and Liverpool respectively; then in 1999 United completed the second part of an historic Treble

Now winning a Manchester Derby FA Cup final and which will be memorable for many years to come.

The special part about winning this FA cup is that not only it’s a trophy but we won it by beating our biggest rival Liverpool and City in a manner that we will want to remember and want to talk about for years and years.

When he won the Carabao Cup everyone tried to downplay it as we had an easy draw in their opinion and now people want to downplay this to even though we played Liverpool and City to win it

Look at them, fecking heroes

Bank holiday Monday winding down, but there’s still time to watch the final again in its entirety. :D

The magic of the FA cup has never left me since I was a child.
I was 9 in 1979, when we played Arsenal and lost 3 - 2. I still remember it like it was yesterday. Sitting in the living room with my dad, scarf on, curtains pulled because it was a hot, sunny day.
Back then you could buy FA cup final programmes in your local Post Office and I loved buying them and flicking through them. These were the days of Coca Cola adverts and watching in awe Brazil, in their yellow and blue kits in the World Cup.
We lost that 1979 Cup final in what I still consider one of the most magical I've ever watched, despite the loss. I remember I was in tears and my dad put his arm around me and said 'football gets you like that boy' My dad was 37 at the time.
Years later, I started a company with a friend I met at work, who was 10 years older than me, an Arsenal supporter. Turns out he was actually at Wembley that day as a 19yr old lad and even he still says it was a magical day and the best FA Cup he's ever seen.

Well Saturday, beating City the way we did, made me feel like that 9yr old again. The memories came flooding back and that sheer energy you get in your chest hit me. A minute after the final whistle went, the phone went, my dad, now 82, choked up, saying ' yes we won boy! We won'.

It was magic. You can't buy feelings like that.

Just watched the match again and wow, we were incredible. The first half was just magnificent, but we started the second on fire, too. Could have been three up had Bruno managed to slip Rashford through at the 50 minute mark.

Watching the game for a second time revealed all the little things that have been missing this season. Feels like we’ve waited an eternity for it to come together and click, then finally it did, and on the biggest stage no less.

I saw players busting a gut to make a tackle. Blocking shots urgently to avoid any nasty deflections. Partnerships, communication, picking the right passes. We were even alert to short corners, which often catch us out.

To top it all off, the celebrations really did feel extra special. Adored the fact that Bruno took the time to push through the plebs in the front row to seek out Sir Alex. Think ETH had an exchange with Sir Alex, too, but was hard to make it out. Love how the players wanted him to have the trophy, togetherness at the end of a torrid season shone through.

For me it’s time to savour that win and switch off from club football until the new season. There will be so much gossip and speculation in the weeks ahead, enough to drive any fan nuts. Can now happily ignore all that nonsense and enjoy the Euros.

One of the greatest matches I've been at live considering how shit we've been all season and it being against City. I haven't stopped watching all these clips since, it just makes it all the more sweeter that everyone thought we'd get battered.

Also the take me home united road at the end when everyone was singing it as loud as possible with the players+staff in front of us was spine tingling!

Same. Although it would've been better if Wembley had played the United version instead of 'take me home, country roads'.

All of this. The FA Cup, the FA Challenge fecking Cup, is massive and the treble wouldn't be THE treble without the FA Cup.

I also find it kind of hard to believe that Saturday was only the fourth time I have seen us lift the trophy in my lifetime. I was too young to remember 1994 and 1996 properly, so 1999, 2004, 2016 and 2024. For a club who also dominated the domestic game in noughties we really should have won it more.

We really should. We’ve also won it only four times in my lifetime (I was born in 1999) but I only became a United and football fan in 2010 so I’ve only seen us lift it twice. The fact that we’ve only won it thrice since the turn of the century is actually really bad.

Definitely my favourite ever FA Cup win. Although beating Arsenal in that semi in 04 was near… (That was basically the final)
- Watched the full game and highlights on with punditry on both channels.
- Gone through the celebrations and vlogs from both sides. Not sure what’s left now ….
