The F1 Thread 2010 Season

I think you just choose drivers/teams from a budget & it goes from there. If enough show interest i'll look to set one up

I did a fantasy F1 thing last year but I'd actually forgotten till I just saw this, think I only checked it for about 3 races!

I'll enter a team if you do sort it though.

So basically you just select your drivers, there are two strategies.

1 - 40m spend with unlimited changes throughout the season
2 - 45m spend but you can't make any changes

I think you can switch between the two strategies throughout the season.

Variety of points are awarded for fastest lap, qualifying position & final position.

Good stuff guys, if you know of others on the Caf that would be interested then give them a heads up :)

With the race this Sunday what is everyone predictions for the season

World champion - Lewis Hamilton
Constructors - Ferrari
Suprise driver of the year - Hulkenberg

World champion - Lewis Hamilton
Constructors - Mclaren
Suprise driver of the year - Schumi... he wont be as good as people are expecting

Four drivers for me...

I did think about five as well, but realised that they'd be unlikely to score that well, looks like the cars are going to be as reliable as they were last season, which means it's going to be tough for anyone to really outdo Mercedes, McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull...so how many points places does that leave.

And predictions

Fernando Alonso/Hamilton to win in Bahrain - just don't know which car is better yet

The battle will be between them for the Drivers, but I think JB can challenge, as he's so easy on his tyres and brakes, but I'll go for Hamilton, as the rate of development on last season's McLaren was incredible, I know it was shite to begin with, but still

Drivers - Hamilton
Constructors - McLaren
Surprise - Sauber

Just caught a bit of the 2nd practice session, and this may be a bit harsh, but surely they can't let HRT race, if they are that much slower (14 seconds) then they are dangerous in my opinion.

Feck me, 14 seconds! Jeez, that is way off. Though, who knows, they might do better at a different type of circuit.

There's talk of the 107% rule coming back, although it would need everyone to vote for it to happen this season, only 70% of the teams in favour for next season.

I think they had a lot of mechanical problems from the little I've managed to read, Chandhok’s car didn't even get to run, so Senna's laps could have been more about making sure the car would actually drive than trying to put in respectable times.

We'll know more tomorrow morning.

im not sure how dangerous it as as in many races you have different class of cars on the same circiut at once with comparable time differentials... more cars and less skilled drivers...

as to if they add anything by being on the grid or to the sport by being that far off the pace is a different point though and on that basis you have t question the validity of letting them race as they are essentially just a mobile chicane that can add some excitement by slowing people down a bit

To be fair to HRT that was out of the box running, Senna has driven an F1 car a handful of times let alone one thats brand new and a small team. Senna also stated they ran with a de-tuned Cosworth which would make sense given the need for laps, the fact they only fired the engine up wednesday and the Bahrain heat factor, I reckon they will be about 8-9 seconds off by Quali which sounds an awful lot but lets be honest they are months behind the rest.

Chandhok needs to get some running in FP3 tomorrow though else its pointless sending him out. I think a double HRT retirement is a given for sunday if they both make the start but fair play to them for even making it.

Gotta say Lewie will win title #2, The Maccas for the constructors, and Kubica to be a top 5 driver this season and shock alot of people.

Hamilton
Vettel
Massa
Kubica
Alonso
Button
