The Europa League : Round of 16/QF/SF and the Final

Liverpool lose every first leg away and come back and win at home

Though with no torres this time and if Madrid can hang on to their 1-0 win Madrid could just sneak it

I don't understand how Liverpool are considered favorites for the second leg now. Forlan/Aguerro is a great strikeforce, and whilst Madrid aren't in great form, niether are Liverpool without Maxi or Torres especially.

Yup. Without Torres and with Aguero back Madrid have a decent chance.

The way the Five commentary team were going on, you'd have thought Liverpool won and have a foot in the Final already :wenger:

Madrid must be favourites now?

A draw will get them through, and if they score they are basically through as well.

With Reyes, Simao, Forlan and Aguero on the pitch I'd say an Atletico goal is more likely than a Liverpool goal.

Still think Liverpool are favourites - you'd fancy Liverpool to still win at Anfield, although no away goal makes it a really interesting scenario.

What's all this about Liverpool being favourites to go through?

They'll have to either win 1-0 to take it to extra time or win by 2 goals at Anfield if they want to go through.

Piss poor game credit to the ref though was good to watch a game not get stopped every 20 seconds wish we could see a few more like him in Europe.

What with N'Gog up front? Surely you must fancy him to bag at least a brace.

Princess Reyes. Spends more time on the floor pretending to be injured than he does on his feet. Found his level at a poor Atletico side that we'd have taken apart last season. As it is the current squad is tired (in both physicality and formula) and lacking in quality. I'd drop Gerrard if we had anyone to replace him with...oh and Rafa...stop playing Gerrard behind the striker! Especially when that striker is NGog.

Seriously, no piss taking now. What happened to Aquilani? Just what the feck...

Injury prone player going to Liverpool where they seem to have cows for doctors and a manager with the man management skill of a water melon is a recipe for disaster.

But was he a Benitez choice? Because he seems to have shown such indifference towards him - as though he never wanted/rated him in the first place.

What were their scouts doing? Was Aquilani actually ever that good at Roma?

But was he a Benitez choice?

Of course he was. I hope you aren't buying into the whole "Keane wasn't Rafa's choice" scouse delusion.

And besides Parry (creator of all problems according to Liverpool fans) is gone now. He has full control. Whatever that means. But of course now he will blame the owners for no money.

I'm not buying into anything.

I'm just astonished that a manager could buy a player off his own back and then rate him so dismally, so quickly.

Something has gone on behind the scenes...
