The Europa League 2017/18(Use the SF thread to discuss the current match)

How are Milan doing? Are they expected to have another spending spree in the summer - and if so which players have been linked?

I really think you could do well against Arsenal. Their team is pretty uninspiring.
Based on current form, Milan are second only to Juve in the league, if you look at the stats. The summer is too far to say anything with certainty. There have been allegations against the owner that he's a fraud/broke, but he denied any wrongdoing. UEFA still rejected Milan's voluntary FFP proposal, I don't know what sort of impact that will have. If the squad makes it into the CL, they'll keep the current big names they have, which is as good as, if not better, than buying new players. They've a chance to have a deep run in the EL now, and they're already in the coppa Italia final against Juve, so things are looking up since all the doom and gloom after Montella's sacking before the new year.

Milan-Arsenal still sounds such an epic fixture even though both teams are a shell of their former selves. Here's hoping they put on a spectacle to raise the profile of the EL even more.

So from the remaining teams, the following need to win the Europa League to get CL football:

Arsenal
Athletic Club
CSKA Moskva***
Lazio*****
Milan
Olympique Lyonnais
Olympique Marseille*
RB Leipzig**
Sporting CP
Zenit***

* Only 4 points behind Monaco in the league, would currently get into the play-offs
** Competition is fierce in the Bundesliga
*** Again, competition fierce with both teams on 38 points and just behind Spartak Moskva who are also on 38 points
**** Inter are on their heels with a game in hand

Thanks. I'd like to see Milan do well.

Thanks mate. It would be incredible to win after United. My two favourite clubs.
Cool! Kinda makes me root for you a bit more now.
just looking at the Milan squad and I can only recognise 3 players in that starting XI vs pretty much everyone in the Juve team the other day.
Suso and Bonaventura are two players I most enjoy watching from Milan.

I didn't realise this was on now! I thought I had an hour left to eat! At least I can watch Lazio as well tonight then.

Still the same old defending by Arsenal. In the EL, they have a striker who can't score in addition to a defense that can't defend.

The atmosphere at the San Siro is electric. Definitely the best atmosphere. I wish Old Trafford was like this for the big games.

Milan seem to have the passion, but not the quality. Can't see Arsenal loosing this tie.

Knew it. Milan were getting so overhyped by everyone before the game.

Mkhi 0-1. Loves the EL doesn't he? He's the new Falcao in the competition.

Mkhi is the Europa League king. He was pivotal for our own campaign in that competition last season.. We sold Wenger a potential lifesaver.

Arsenal really should be through. Should be easily able to handle this Milan side.

Milan quality is shockingly poor. They missed loads and loads of passes and couldn't benefit from open spaces behind Arsenal defense.
