The Debate (Sky Sports show)

Watching the segment now with the three of them crying about the collective meanness everyone has to the poor little British managers - Sherwood even just tried to make a point about Moyes not being given the money LVG or Jose have spent  This is a cnut who was at Spurs when Moyes and United were making bids for Bale that were even bigger than the world record fee Madrid paid for him and he comes out with that shite

I can just imagine the chairmen of football clubs around Europe listening to him going on tonight and desperately wanting to give him a position of responsibility at their clubs :wenger:

I'm definitely willing to bet that most players would rather play for Pep than Jose.

Especially attacking players.

Oh Barcelona fan coming up with this opinion is surprising.

Utd are not popular right now because we are under the controlling spell of the great helmsman swengali evil genius. Get used to this antipathy. I've taught myself to enjoy it, by now I'm watching games naked with the curtains drawn puffing on a shopping bag.

Ha ha ... you are right. It’s the media and the henchmen that keep up this circus. It’s not long ago the special one was a darling who could do no wrong. Short memories indeed!

Carragher and Neville on this tonight, acting as both presenters and pundits. Should be better than normal.

Good programme tonight so far.

Interesting view from Neville. Thinks United should finish 2nd but says that it's important now for Jose to treat the next 13 games as a 'mini Premier League'. He said he needs to use these next 13 games to settle on a long term formation/players and to mould the team, that needs to go on League winning form, so we can start next season in a strong manner and continue with League winning form. He said the aim for the next 13 games should be 10wins and 2/3 draws.

He made comparison to Pep last year that around January he knew the league was gone, but he brought Jesus and Sane into the team and dropped De Bruyne back, with a view of moulding his team for this season.

I think he is spot on and the end of this season is extremely important preparation for next season.

He said Jose should setup with a 4-3-3 which many people here agree with.

If City win the title we can then say we let them win it and stopped trying in January. Win win.

Very good show. Nevilles theory on Wenger was interesting! Carragher spot on about Pogba and Neville was right regarding remaining months in the league. Dunno about Neville's idea that the January spend is down to owners being nearly afraid to say no to their managers.

{rob only Guardiola has that power in the top 6 clubs, because of what he's done this season. Would hope Jose doesn't, hasn't done enough to warrant it yet.

It's great that they release all of these as a podcast.

Working abroad podcasts are essential.

Along with this, Sunday Supplement, Guardian Football Weekly and Flintoff Sav and the Pingpong guy, I'm all set.

What the actual feck is Wright wearing?!

Merse on a proper rant tonight against the players. He sounds well triggered.

What the hell is sherwood about ?

That's the easiest Job Ole can get .... his logic is so flowed, 'Ole just have to babysit'.

I'm not watching but Tim Sherwood is not only a dispisable little oik but he's also a bloody idiot. Nothing he says is worth paying attention to

Easiest job in the world according to Sherwood. Merse said something along the lines that players will look embarrassed if they now suddenly put up a top performance on Saturday. Sky do a good job wedging in some proper phonies in every programme they have on their channels.

If they can’t get decent pundits on they shouldn’t even bother with the show.

Who would be interested in a “debate” between Merson and Sherwood, two of the thickest ex-footballers around?

Saw one on YouTube the other day and it was Jeff Shreeves mediating a debate on racism in football. At least get a journalist who isn’t a walking meme if you want to discuss something serious and important. It’s like having “the moose” from TalkSport leading a debate on Brexit.

Sherwood was Spurs manager for nearly a year. Think about it.

They are all numpties . Dion Dublin was on the other night saying Jose would turn things around , he was sacked the next morning . It was obvious at that point that Jose was trying to get sacked . No doubt next time Dublin is on he'll say he had to go as there was no chance of him turning it around . They are all stealing a living .

I don't think Merson understands modern football. He seemed to think the reason Mourinho was unpopular was because players don't like being shouted at and was talking about it being a disgrace how the players put a shift in against Cardiff as though it's already happened

Not one of them thought to make the point that the manager's divisive methods don't work anymore and have now got him sacked at his last three clubs. It makes you realise how little Sky can be taken seriously these days when their pundits consistently paint players as prima donnas.
