The Damned United

Actually got the dvd in the post today, its out monday.

The 20 ish minutes of deleted scenes are as good as the movie, Brian Clough chopping up Revie's desk and burning it in the car park is funny as feck  He also tries to get the Leeds players to dance with each other in the dressing room

Just saw this, thought it was a typical fairly shit British film.

The story wasn't well told, all that hopping back and forward in time, very clumsy. At the end, having been all about his rivalry with Revie, it all became about his bust-up with Taylor, which I didn't really care about.

Couldn't decide about Sheen's performance... it was irritatingly mannered, but also quite compelling. Do Jim Broadbent and Timothy Spall have to be in absolutely everything? They're really not that great, especially Spall.

I saw it on the plane back from Chicago. Thought it was a solid film, nothing amazing but better than average. The guy who played Clough made the film for me, great performance.

Saw it tonight as well - enjoyed it but like the OP was left wanting the full Clough story with Forest etc. Thankfully they followed it with a documentary which filled in the missing bits.

Have to remember that a lot of it fictional.
Amazing footage in those video clips though - can you imagine anything like this happening today?

Agree with this, I thought Michael Sheen was outstanding.
