The current market prices..

It means that I'm not sure how this can keep going. Average players going for 30 mil is a problem. 20 year old unproven stickers going for 60 is a problem.
Why is it a problem? What should be the price in your mind?

Flop in the context of what the signing was meant to bring to the team. Juve had won 7 or 8 titles before Ronaldo arrived, Im assuming they bought him to go to the next level and win a CL. They didn't pay over 100m for a 32 year old just to continue doing the same thing.

C.Ronaldo was a big producer maybe slightly below expectations though I feel that wasn't the general sentiment at the time. Juve actually regressed in the Champion's League results (though 3 years is a small sample and a cup format is by nature erratic) and in hindsight there's debate that the sum was lesser than the parts and Ronaldo's production came at the expense of the team performing as an unit. But isn't that the club's failure rather than the responsibility of the player ?

I think Juventus did actually expect him to continue what he was doing and they paid handsomely for the perceived high guarantee he would. They miscalculated that adding a guaranteed big scorer was the final piece that should push them over the top.

David Moyes on Lucas Paquetá and Man City deal: “We've received an offer from Manchester City for Paquetá”.

“At the moment it's not anywhere near meeting our valuation”.

in what world is Paqueta a 95m player? The 14th placed team in the league has basically priced their midfield pair at 200m+

Come on City pay up

I can kinda accept the Caicedo price but that Paqueta deal is mental

Because they don’t need to sell, and Man City can afford it. There’s so much money in the game in the top flight that even lower-mid table teams can hold strong. Value is subjective, even the value of money itself is made-up. He may not be a £95m player based on a collective fan concensus, but it doesn’t work like that. He’s worth what a buyer is willing to pay.

I actually quite like Paqueta but he had a very inconsistent season / average season. No way have his displays merited a €100m valuation, although I can see him improving a lot this year.
