Music The Country Music Thread - ZARLAK COME IN SO WE CAN MOCK YOU

It's like head AIDS. It's middle of the road blandness survives only by being so insipid and identical that you can't get rid of it.

It's only usefull purpose is as a gateway drug to better music, listening to which is the only cure for it's insanity.

I didn't. My natural xenephobia overtook me and assumned your long haired Americanness made you easily susceptible to the cult of cuntness, I mean cuntry, I mean country. I'm also drunk and didn't read any of the thread, which I now realise I've actually replied to, several times.

I apologise profusely. Lets kill Zarlak.

This is @Zarlak's idol, Brantley Gilbert.

The new Zac Brown Band album takes a few listens to get into but it's getting better. Definitely heading away from the country stuff though at times.

George Jones and Townes van Zandt are decent back catalogues to work your way through.

I assume @Zarlak is a fan of George Strait, Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley etc?

Hot. I might go get it myself on Monday. Do you know who did it? We can get matching ones, you can get one about free speech.

 Not quite.

Let's be fair... this is probably the greatest song, and music video, of all time:

Talk about a hard-hitting subject matter...

It might've been passable if it had any melody at all.

It doesn't.

Who needs a melody when you're drunk ON a plane? And rhyming honeymoon with Cancoon... it's genius that I can barely comprehend.

It's dreadful... someone showed me this and a song called "She Thinks My Tractors Sexy" ... it was a great moment in life.

Yeah he's met one of life's biggest unspoken subjects head on there. Grammy award winning stuff surely

There's another male singer whose name I can't remember that sings a song that's equally as (not) epic but the video is by the beach and in a shack/bar thing getting a drink with an immense woman. If only I could remember the name.

Kacey Musgraves is worth a shout to listen too. Got a quirky fit thing going on about her too.

Miranda Lambert has some decent tunes but she doesn't write the better ones herself - The House That Built Me won song of the year at the CMA's for good reason.

I actually do like one of her songs - it does helps that she's pretty hot though.

Found that song I was on about before but couldn't remember who it was... More pop than modern country though. Terrible stuff.

For those interested in some of Zac Brown Band tunes, 2 standout one from their latest album because of the meaning and purpose of the lyrics. Interesting themes.

Bittersweet - Reminsicinng about a lover that has died.

Dress Blues - About a soldier that has died away at war and the aftermath as his funeral takes place at home.

Worth a listen for those with country tastes and 10 mins to spare.

Good old George Strait.

Speaking of George's, has this classic from George Jones been posted yet?

Just an FYI to anyone interested, Kacey Musgraves is in the UK in November and tickets are on general sale tomorrow. Go via her website to buy presale before 9am tomorrow.

I spent the whole summer listening to fecking country music because my girlfriend is from Maryland and every white person there loves it.

Here's the place for you... :p

Glad to see Chris Stapleton get serious recognition last night at the CMA's. Traveller is a great album. Here's Timberlake getting in on the country music scene, apparently it's his latest project.

Saw Kacey Musgraves last night. Was looking and sounding mighty fine.

Still really enjoying the Chris Stapleton - Traveller album. Hope he gets a gig in UK again soon as I missed C2C.

The Bros Landreth are a good listen too. Canadian country, ay.
