Marouane Chamakh and Adam Johnson are both interesting prospects. Jole Cole will get his contract and the others are either past it, too injury prone or just shite and not worthy of consideration.

His current contract expires this coming summer, but I'd imagine that he'll end up signing at least a 1 year extension ... although possibly on a pay-as-you-play basis.
I don't think he'll ever again be a starting regular again for Spurs due to his well-known knee problem, but no club will have a better CB squad cover-player than him.
It's a huge shame about his knee, but I'm still amazed at how well he continues to play even without being able to train fully in between games.

Joe Cole would be a dreadful signing. Not the type of personality I like and as a player, massively overated.

I can envision City tossing 100k per week at Cole.
I don't believe any of the ones we need are, who I'd pick are realisitic. As in those that can solve our left wing woes till the likes of Obertan, Tosic and possibly Nani if he stays around find their feet.
& those are Petrov, Cole or Johnson.

Those kinds of funds are better reserved for top class players, of which Joe Cole is not. He's a quality player no doubt. I believe Chelsea will be a bit more fiscal over wages paid to someone like Cole. If Cole is wise he'll wait until June and then examine the offers as I have no doubts City will toss a massive wage. It will depend on Ancelotti's assessment of what he wants in the first team as well as any potential transfer bans.
Exactly, why would they even consider selling? They're going for back-to-back Leagues, and are looking a quite decent show in the CL ATM.

Is Adam Johnson any better than Obertan, Tosic or sticking Welbeck on the left to aid his development?
Also is he any better than Nani or Park, to other established players floating around the squad competing for games?
One thing I personally want United to stop doing is this recent trend of stockpiling wide players. We've been purchasing decent young wide players for the past 18 months and we are already have too many to be fair to them. Last thing United need is another one in the same mould. Next signing has to be one that can go into the first team and establish themselves swiftly
Paul Scharner would be a great addition as a polyvalent player in defence, defensive midfield as a nice cover...
He is what none them are though. A naturally left footed left side player. Many under estimate the importance of those. If a big club like us can mould him into a good one. He'd be a valuable asset.
I'd prefer this too tbh. It woudl greatly reduce the pressure and expectation on a player like Nani and IMO increase his chances of making it. For he wont be competing with a bonafide starter but fellow up comers to make the squads.
IMO it could be the reason why Nani was so good in his first year. He wasn't expected tp start games. Just be valuable cover.

Don't think anyone particularly interesting on that list. Perhaps we should look at Boswinga, Coleman, Zavon Hines, Meyler and Briggs but not sure if any of them would be good enough for us.
