wow im surprised at their clubs letting that happen... adriano is possibly worth a put for somebody like villa?... if o'neil could get him playing well then he would have one hell of a player... if not then he has heskey, carew and agbonlahor anyway

players like ballack, metzleder, nistelrooy would probably walk into most premiership teams... problem with metzled is he would contine to walk when he was playing...

still some good players in that lot though

i expect someone like cole to re-sign for chelsea again

some good players in there

I'd take cole or petrov - if not then a few of the others as squad players

maxi rodriguez and has saha showed his fitness this season??

havent really watch chamakh but i think that one has arsenal all over it

what about the other leagues? any other decent players available in germany, italy or spain?

If Chelsea had had the transfer embargo in place against them in this transfer window, then I imagine they'd have offered lucrative contracts to Cole and Ballack, as they wouldn't have been able to strengthen their squad from outside. Cole's played more under Ancelotti than he did under previous managers at times though, 17 games so far this season, and Chelsea are pushing for the title so I'd be surprised if he left.

Ballack I wonder about. He's now 33, and past the best form of his career, so I could potentially see them letting him go on if offers come in before his contract expires (most likely this transfer window, if so), but I very much doubt they'd let him go on a free; though of course it is his decision at this point. Think he's more likely to depart than Joe Cole; though he may still stay at Chelsea for next season.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Joe Ledley. He's a lifelong Cardiff Fan, and appears to be a loyal player for them, but there'll likely be Prem clubs sniffing around him, and if Cardiff don't go up this season (currently 4th), then I think he might well join a mid-table Prem club, and he definitely has the talent to do a job for a Prem side. Hull are apparently interested, and Phil Brown's been to watch a game or two of Cardiff's to see Ledley, but they'll likely be back down in the Championship next campaign too.

Be interesting to see what happens with the lad.

just a thought... if they dont get cole to sign an extention soon are chelaea allowed to extend his contract next summer when their transfer ban is in place as he would be a free agent then?

Adam Johnson is an interesting one isn't he? Chelsea were after him but Boro wanted to a big fee and are willing to risk putting him on the market in the final year of his contract.

Joe Cole isn't going anywhere, he's about to sign a new contract.

As for the rest of the list, how many games did Rosicky manage in his time at Arsenal?

And Adriano, what a waste of talent.

They are restricted from 'registering new players' as I understand it, so extending the contract of an existing player shouldn't be an issue.

IS he actually any good?

Not see much of Johnson but he routinely gets linked with a big club and he is having a good season in the Championship averaging a goal every two games, which is impressive for a wide player.

Still, the next wide player United sign has got to be one with a very good chance of getting into the side quickly and making a success of themselves. We have been stockpiling too many young wide players these past few years and it would be pointless to add Johnson to the likes of Tosic and Obertan who are all waiting for an opportunity to stake their claim. Even if Nani was sold on I'd want a better player than Johnson as are next winger.

I highly doubt that the ones highlighted wont have signed new deals come January

Would love Joe Cole but as I said Chelsea will tie him up sooner rather than later

Has been around now for a couple of years but never got a sniff while Boro were in the Premier League and having seen him play during those years I cant say I'm surprised

One that's certainly not worth the hype IMO

Although I dont quite like his playing attitude (diving, elbowing etc), Ballack is worth the try in my opinion. He is still quality. He never relies on speed or pace and there were many very good german players in recent years who performed quite well even way past their 35.

He played quite regularly in their side last season when they got relegated. Made 26 appearances in the league and scored no goals.

Can't say I've ever seen anything that merits him being considered a signing for a big club but my views on his are very limited.

Just checked out Boro fans views on him. He does not appear very popular with his own fans. Opinions vary on his actual ability.

fmttm Message Board | Adam Johnson - Will he be missed?!?

I can honestly say I haven't seen any glimpses of the Ballack that played for Bayern during his time in England

So no, just no

As long as he signed the contract before his current ran out.

Bordeaux can't do anything about Chamakh's situation - he wanted to leave during the summer, said as much, and was even promised as much by the President only for him to go back on his word. We made a move but was re-buffed... Now he's going to leave on a free come the end of the season unless someone manufactures a move for him over this window.

As far as I know, English clubs can't sign pre-contract agreements with players in England.

The cnut had his chance in 2006 and said no.

What about Morten Gamst? A few years ago people were wanking silly over him here. At 28 would a new challenge at a big club re-invigorate his career?

Probably worth a shout for a freebee. Good back up at the very least.

No thanks, I'd rather keep Nani, than sign a piece of shit like Pederson

Piece of shit as in piece of shit as a person or just a piece of shit football player, or both?

As a player, but more than likely considering he is a modern day professional footballer and his hair cut, Both

He's pretty tall though. He could do a job as a centreback for a while.

I don't see one single player there that is a realistic target and could become an addition to the squad. Why the hell would be want Adriano with his documented problems? The last thing this squad and SAF wants is that kind of player.

And he's in a Noggie boyband. Marketed right, I think the world is ready for Norwegian pop music. We'd make millions.
