The Ashes

Bracken's cousin used to be a poster in here at one time.mjdj or something.

I really hope we win there player and media showing us no resprect at all. The players saying they will beat england 5-0 and we are a 1 man(flintoff) team. There sports media is worse than englands and that saying something just watch SSN and they showed headlines in austraillian papers. I really hope we beat them.

None of the papers and radio I read/listen to are saying that. Sure they think that Oz will win, which is hardly surprising. I think t was McGrath who said they will win 5-0, he also added that he thinks that anbout every game and series he goes into. There are plenty of critics here for the ageing Aussie team and Pontin's captaincy. Don't believe everything you read in the English media.

I typed that when I saw the headline 'How did we lose the ashes to this lot' after england lost to your b-team(whatever the team is called) and it was heydan who said that england are a 1 man team. Saying that the Aussies should win england will struggle with injuries to key players and other out of form.

What are the Aussie media saying about england chances and the injuires.

Jesus we've just taken a hammering

Doom

No need to panic just yet. Harmy returned to form and even Pieterson and Flinthoff have hit half centuries against an attack incl. McGrath, Lee and Bracken.

I think will get hammered. No Jones, no Vaughn. We're missing two vital players and I don't think we can replace them. Warne and McGrath will clean us up with regularity in their last Ashes series.

I agree - this is all going to end in tears! :(

What a lot of negativity.
Over the past 3 years England haven proven their resiliance. England are a quality test side and will be very difficult to beat. Mark my words...

I dont think its going to be as easy for Australia as some people think. I still theres cracks now in this side which England exposed last time around. If England play as well close to how well they did last time, its going to be close.

Trescothick has lost his marbles.

Gone home and out for the summer.

Oi mjdj, isn't Bracken related to you?Or am I mistaking you for someone else?

Huge blow for england but this is getting ridicules all the fecking players are getting injured.

Oirishman Ed Joyce has been picked to replace Tres-there’s only 2 Trescothicks-cothick. We now have Zimbabweans, South Africans, Australians, Indians, Welsh and Irish playing for England.
Is there actually any English playing?

Freddie

And it should have been Owais Shah not Joyce

Shah at third and Bell down to 4th, if Collingwood gets injured

Australia squad: Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Ricky Ponting (capt), Damien Martyn, Michael Hussey, Shane Watson, Adam Gilchrist (wk), Shane Warne, Brett Lee, Stuart Clark, Mitchell Johnson, Glenn McGrath, Shaun Tait

Who are the Zimbabweans, Australians and Welsh players. I know Pietersen is from South Africa and Panesar is English just Indian family.

Alright, so I was exaggerating a little….

Fletcher – Zimbabwe
Strauss – SA
Pieterson – SA
Mahmood – Pakistan
Monty – India
Joyce – Ireland
Jones – Wales

Fletcher is not a player. Strauss is not from SA is he give me some proof. Plus Mahmood and Monty are english.

Though Mahmood & Monty were born in England, both could have chosen to play for Pakistan and India respectively.

I stand corrected

Fletcher's picked Geraint Jones and the King of Spain...feck

Does anyone except Rams think we have a chance?

Differences from last year: no Vaughn, no Tresco, no Jones, Flintoff on the way back from injury and saddled with the captaincy.

That's a series of massive blows, plus we're away from home and the Aussies are angry. I don't see us winning a match.
