Consider the fact that Hugo Sanchez won the European Golden Boot at the 1989/90 season when players like van Basten and Romario were around. Consider the fact that he won 5 Pichichis from 1985 to 1990. Consider the fact that Sanchez is the fourth-highest goalscorer in the history of Spain's top division. Not sure that you can say that Sanchez is a better goalscorer than Leonidas. If anything, it's the other way round, judging purely on stats (which we shouldn't, of course).
Leonidas is a great striker, no doubt, and his scoring record is definitely impressive, but what Sanchez was doing impresses me much more, especially since Real Madrid already had another great goalscorer in Butragueno in the team.
