The 4-Way Draft

Follow the normal snake. PM if you'll not be online.

I didn't mean I won't be online. I mean most managers will save some players only they can pick until the last few rounds. We may aswell just pick the players that are only available to yourself now and save going round and round the snake when there's no need.

Personally I think a lot of the options that are available to the managers are dependent on whoever of the other options that overlap they get.

For example I have loads of attacking options available only for me, but depending whoever I get in defence/midfield from those who overlap I'd next decide the approach.

Maybe in round 6-7 it's a good idea in terms of pace, but if we send it to Edgar our next picks it would be generally the same, whilst we keep the flow.

but this must be the worst draft for choosing picks, second round and i have no clue which route to take:o

@2mufc0
Brazil has an embarrassment of riches !

I've got a few really tough decisions for my pick. There are ten players that can't be picked by other drafters. I now can't decide who I should get in first...

 Physiocrat?

The battle Tuppet/Moby will be interesting
Only for defenders and possibly B2B/DM midfielders I guess. The forwards, #10, playmakers pool is fecking huge and packed with GOAT/GOATish players.

I've planned a few picks that I'm fairly confident are only available to me.

It'll be just my luck that I miscalculated and see those picks all disappear before getting a chance at them again

Don't worry, I haven't forgotten! I'm pretty sure I've decided on the two but I'm leaving some gems behind.

As long as they're in positions I'm not prioritising then go ahead. Otherwise

Now where is our drunk Irish friend? He can't still be asleep.

I would be suprised if our picks don't clash at some point. From your first two players I have a pretty decent idea which formation you are going for.

Rest assured though that I'm only interested in making my team as good as possible. I would never pick a player to screw someone over.

Screwing others is boring.

probably the one team im looking forward the most, really curious where pat goes with it specially as he probably took the most difficult route.

The easy way is seriously old school. Either way it will probably an interesting side.

Although waiting is annoying anything less than 8 hours could really screw a drafter if it goes mental while they're asleep. They could conceivably miss a pick just because of when they slept

Yeah agree with this. But people can leave picks which will speed things up.

Perhaps picking sooner or leaving picks in PMs could be incentivised? Similar to the first monopoly draft and I think it helped pick up pace iirc.

8 is fine and the bare minimum.
Everyone should be aware of when their pick is coming up. If anyone is going to sleep or knows they won't be able to check for let's say six hours then they can leave their picks with someone.

Theres different time zones and people have all kinds of stuff going on that you cant imagine. Good for you if you sit in front of a screen for 18 hours a day, everyone doesn't. We've had this standard time period since the drafts began on here and it's worked just fine for years now.

Think Pat is on the West Coast. Would imagine he'd take his time as it is Saturday and not get up at 6am to make his pick.

Best approach is to leave picks with Edgar and someone else behind you, if of course one wants and knows his next pick.

I obviously can't sit in front of a screen 18 hours a day. I'm not working today so I do have some time on my hands but I know when my turn is coming up. It only takes a minute to check on your phone.

This might not be a big enough advantage but you could have the team with the shortest average pick times winning drawn matches

And sometimes you don't have a minute to check on your phone nor can you always just leave a pick without knowing what others have picked.

Maybe bring these things up before a draft has begun next time and not after when people have signed up for it and started playing. You need everyone's approval to change something in the middle and in this case, you don't have it, sorry.

I don't believe that people can't find a few odd minutes during the day (even on the toilet) to check their phone.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything to be changed. I still think 8 hours is too long though.

Must come as a real shock that different people can have different lives.

Maybe playing drafts should not be one of the pass times of such people. The 8 hour gap makes sense only during the night when people sleep.
If you can't find time during the day, its better not to participate and make it a bore for everyone else.
