The 2024 Puskás Award goes to... Alejandro Garnacho!

How Ronaldo didn't win it for that overhead kick against Juve I'll never know

Hopefully it will make him appreciate the value of playing for United... Because while it was a great goal, I didn't think he'd win it as it wasn't even the best overhead goal in the shortlist.

Obviously these things are subjective, I think the goal from Garnacho was better but I might have my red spectacles on. Prettiest goal is in the eye of the beholder though.

Yeah, of course. My point was that being a United player might have helped Garnacho as apparently a fans vote determines the top three goals (in no particular order) and then a FIFA panel decides the order of those top three. Most of the other goals were scored by rather unknown players.

Don't get me wrong, it was a fantastic goal and a worthy winner, but being a United player definitely helped as it was a public vote I believe? The United fanbase would have definitely helped him!

Remember a few years ago, Salah scored an ok goal for Liverpool against Everton and it somehow ended up winning the Puskas! All the worldwide dippers voted for it. And it's the same any time there's a Liverpool goal on motd goal of the month. No matter how relatively ordinary the goal is, it tops the poll ahead of far better goals! Absolute sad acts.

We have a lot to look forward to together.....a little different to the quote from someone else dropped on Sunday

You can't coach this.

You either have it in your locker or, you know, it's potentially in your locker but you can't locate the combination key.

For Chicharito, I was expecting to see his backwards header

But it's easy enough to find online. Premier League reposted it quite recently

Well done to Alejandro! Well deserved.

Congratulations to Garnacho! Definitely deserved.

Hope he can get back to hit top form again soon.

You can, just ask them to do it 200 times each day. It will be second nature to them.
Also Terry screaming for handball is just

That goal is at least as good as Macheda's. Or is it?

Congrats to this talented young man, though.

It's much better than Macheda's. What made his so special were the circumstances and the time. If he scores that in the 55th minute as a 3-0 go ahead goal, no one bats an eyelid

 does your aunty have balls? lol

I watched the shortlist and I still think this one was clearly the best!

Never in doubt.

It was, technically, the best over head kick I have ever seen.

Rooney and Bale's were better due to the context, but actual technical execution Garnacho was waaaaaaaaaay up there.

That’ll stick a few more $$ on his value
Got to think there is no smoke without fire on some of these other rumours. If the rumours of a high bid from Athletico are true I wouldn't be suprised if he's offski as well. Probably be best for all concerned.

He sounds like he's been kidnapped and he's being forced to read from a manifesto or something
Jimmy was starring at him from the distance. He had a M&S voucher ready as a "compensation" for Garnacho if he refuses to read the script while Berrada was crouching down together with Wilcox. One of them held up Garnacho's contract and the other poised a pair of scissors over it.

Well deserved award for that goal. Absolutely incredibly goal and a rare highlight from last season. Basically just that and the FA Cup win.

Slightly awkward timing with him having just been dropped for some attitude related issue and now he's plastered all over the clubs social media.

Good! He has no other option but to love the club now. Its like when you hate your office but get promoted beyond your expectation somehow and have to answer an interview about it.

Big gratz! Fun for him and good for the club!

(My favourite ever Puskas Award is Zlatan against the mighty England)

Congrats! Great goal.

Pretty pathetic it’s turning into a thread about Dalot and Rashford.
