Summer transfer window slowly approaching and rumours of Benzema's leaving Real Madrid have started in earnest:
United 'in contact' over £35m striker signing - reports
According to El Confidencial, United are prepared to offer Real Madrid £35 million. Manchester United have reportedly made an approach to sign Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
It has been widely speculated that the 23-year-old would leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer after failing to claim a regular starting berth under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho.
According to El Confidencial, United are prepared to offer Real Madrid £35 million in order to secure the services of the Frenchman, while Click Manchester claims the Old Trafford club are already 'in contact' with the Spanish side.
This would appear to contradict the utterances of Benzema's agent, who said only yesterday that his client would remain in Madrid until January at least.
"Karim is not going to leave Real Madrid for Arsenal or anywhere else," Karim Djaziri stated. "To make it absolutely clear he is staying in Madrid."
