Thanks for fa cup winner I guess….moonwalk at the emirates too.

good riddance lad

Agreed, a casual conversation with Scholes where Lingard told him what absolutely everyone knows has now led everyone to be certain Lingard is behind all leaks?

When a player is still seen as a positive in the press after being subpar for so long one of the few things that would make any sense is that said player is doing something to keep the press onside. Its not by any means a stretch to suggest that there's a quid pro quo in action. It's hardly an agenda but more common sense.

None of those are things for fans to hold against him. He always tried hard and he did deliver in certain key moments.

What? :wenger: :lol::lol:

They absolutely are things to hold against a player. Supporters want to see the players conduct themselves in a professional manner, to then perform on the pitch in turn.

And no he didn't really try deliver at all, he called in plenty of performances and was smack bang average for the vast majority of his 10 years.

Incredible the defence of players like him who mocked the club openly and treated it like crap and then simply didn't meet the required standard either.

Scored some cracking goals and regularly turned up in big games.

Scored at Wembley several times including winners (Fa Cup, League cup, Community Shield)

Always worked hard on the pitch.

I'll believe this gossip about 'bad attitude' and 'leaking' when it's actually been confirmed and not just the fantasies of supporters.

Well said. Gave us probably the best moment post Fergie with that rocket vs Palace.

If he was playing with Keane and other proper attituded pros I think he could have become world class.
Instead he was allowed to become what he became.

I wonder if Rashfords attitude will change now his clique has been torn apart. The same group Mourinho tried to remove years ago.

Lingard lover Ronaldo hater, boooo
Funny how people hate Jesse for “bad attitude” yet worship Ronaldo who threw his toys out of the pram and cried in the press when we didn’t let him sign for Madrid. Then proceeded to deliver the worst most selfish Champions League final performance in history vs Barca in his last game.

'Player with world class performances get more leeway than mediocre players' shocker.

Not hard to grasp, is it?

Go, wash your face really well, look closely into the mirror and then bang it a few times. That's what you deserve for this thread.

So bad attitude only matters if you’re not playing well? That seems a bit hypocritical.

Are you saying that football supporters are hypocrites? Well, I have never ...

To be serious, it's not very surprising that a player who has built up (in Ronaldo's case, tons) of goodwill gets more leeway than some who doesn't perform. This season is a good example - it took a few months before Bruno got serious criticism, because he pretty much carried United the first 1,5 years he was here. This happen in life outside of football also - if someone brings a lot of positive aspects to your life, then it's easier to ignore negative sides. If said person only brings negative aspects to your life bar one positive surprise every other year, then you tend to get annoyed by everything said person does.

As for Lingard, he got a lot of goodwill early on on the back of his FA Cup final goal and that one hotstreak. Add to that him being an academy player, which automatically gives you extra armor against criticism. Then not only did he perform really bad on the pitch, he also started to become a real nuissance of it. Starting with that embarrassing video when our bus was attacked by WH fans. Followed by the holiday video where he by all accounts was asked by the club tune it down. Of course we don't have watertight proof that he has been leaking stuff, but something there has been something iffy with the lack of media attention to his dreadful performances over years. Enhanced by the fact that he got the press to run stories excusing/explaining his dreadful performances with personal issues etc. but now he finally found the real Jesse Lingard again (after two just ok-ish matches in a week) for him to turn utter shit again for the rest of the season. This season the press stuff has been more evident (nothing made of him posing in a WH shirt), inside scoops with the hilarious "oh and the players feel Jesse should play more" etc.

As for you trying to drag Ronaldo down in your defence of Lingard by pointing to the CL final in Rome - Our team got everything wrong that match and Ronaldo was actually our only threat, albeit just for the first 15 minutes or so when we looked decent.

There’s nothing, absolutely nothing, to suggest Lingard is a nuisance off the pitch. If you’re using the video where he’s having a laugh while our bus was attacked then you really are scraping the bottom of the barrel, how the hell is that being a nuisance off the pitch? The rest of your post is pure conjecture.

Agree totally. He has become the scapegoat of this era. It faded for a few months because he left and was playing very well at wham. But somehow came back.

The right decision to let him leave but a good servant.

When you got fanboys like that no wonder Jlingz thought he is bees knees. One of the worst threads followed by one of the worst posts for one of the worst players in recent memory in of the worst periods of the club. How symbolic, eh ?

Average player. Its not his fault that managers put him on the pitch of our club where he clearly had not enough quality.

What it his fault are his antics off the field and his ability to try to monetize every ounce of recognition when probably should have spent the time on the training ground and keeping his profile low, on par with his talent.

Thanks for the goals at wembley and thanks for finally leaving

Out of interest what was the big problem he cause. Was it just that he didn't get sold and then didn't play much. As if that doesn't happen every day at every club
It's been pretty well established that he was one of the main leakers and dickheads of the dressing room.

No matter the player, if a fan wants a thread dedicated to thanking him, I believe it should be respected as it is so to bash any player in other occasions

I’m not a Lingard “fanboy” and there isn’t a single part of my post that was an opinion, it’s literally all fact.

I knew from your post history that you would respond with something like that. It looks like you can't accept that the majority of United fans absolutely dislikes Jesse Lingard. As for the conjecture part, fecking hell, this isnt a trial. The bus video was embarrassing for United, and pretty much epitomised the weak mentality in the squad that ended up losing the CL spot because of that match. Then the holiday video, where it was reported that he got a telling off by the club. Then he proceeds to be an utter embarrasment on the pitch, contributing feck all. In isolation the off pitch stuff with cringy videos, clothing line etc. is not a big deal, but there's absolutely to be expected that those thing will rub supporters the wrong way when you add the bad perfomances to it - which is not insignificant. This season has made it even worse with his sulking to the press about the club, posing in WH shirt while still being poor the few times he got a chance.

Has it. Post the concrete evidence you have. I don't think anyone on the forum has seen it.

It has been widely accepted by the usual parrots on the forum but it is basically fan fiction
No such thing has been established.
Oh here we go. So Scholes was bullshitting when he name dropped him then? All the media reports are wrong? We are supposed to just assume that he wasn't a problem because the club themselves haven't said it? This isn't the justice system, there's no "innocent til proven guilty", it's a fecking football forum.

I'm sure there were plenty of other problematic players in the dressing room too, to be fair, there would have to be, given the mess our squad has been this last year, but y'know, he's shite.

Being cringey off the pitch isn’t a bad attitude, and if fans are upset about him enjoying his life then that’s their own problem. He’s entitled to be happy.

A leak would be if he told a journalist something with the intention of it being published. He didn’t. He spoke to an ex player who he’s obviously friendly with and Scholes decided to throw him under the bus. If you want to pretend that’s the same thing then go for it.

Please could you cite “all the media reports”?

Once again responds with the oneliners. This is such a weird hill to die on that there's no other explanation for this than you either being a fanboy or close to him. And being a fanboy for one of the worst performers for us overall the last decade is weird, so must be the last alternative.

I believe scholes spoke to him and he said whatever scholes said he said. I don't think that justifies whatever nonsense is being said in here. The rest is just paper talk. For some reason we decided this year whenever journalists write the usual made up stuff, we would believe United's negative stuff.

We will be linked to 100+ players this summer in those same papers. We will be in talks for 40, we will have submitted 90 million bids for 30. Do you believe all this as well

Wait, what? That's just being incredibly obtuse. It's proof that he was talking shit about the dressing room to someone and you're flat out dismissing it? Go away.

Fans have no right to demand anything from players off duty. Except that they conduct themselves like normal human beings amd normal human beings are sometimes immature. Thats his business.

What fans can and should demand is professionalism in every aspect that concerns the club and Jesse absolutely met that standard. For a time his best wasn't good enough but how can you hold thay against him?

By all accounts he trained extremely hard and for a player who's been around a few clubs no set of fans or coaches have ever accused him of not being professional.

And when has he mocked the club??
