Thanks for fighting my corner while I was asleep
@Ijazz17
10-2, I'm obviously going to lose this
it's a shame because I felt the players I picked were more than capable of facing most teams.
I drafted 2 openers who have scored close to 4000 runs as a partnership, they gave the Aussie team of the 90s and 00s a solid platform to build innings with.
I followed up the openers with 2 of the best innings builders in cricket with Kallis and Miandad, both were well known to score double centuries at critical points in a match, I played Ganguly at 5 because he was an excellent aggressive batsman for the middle order who could take a game by the scruff of the neck and pull it along with great stroke play with the old ball.
The bowling team I put together I always felt was good. I like teams that are versatile ( be it cricket or football) and I believed my group of players to be exactly that. I have 2 stock bowlers in Hughes and klusener who can bowl all day between them with no change in their variation, I know that neither of them are stand out but their sole job is to wear the position down with my main strike bowler Philander taking the wickets, with a avg of close to 18 I'm sure he would have done the job with no pressure to bowl long sessions. With 4 pacers taking up the batsmen time and energy I honestly thought that my 2 spinners would of taken advantage of the pressure that was built with wickets at important times.
Ahhh well
