Bear in mind that players/managers/journalists when picking a side have to go for a 442. Number 10s tend to just be put on the wing.

Didn't know that! In which case you'll have the same players except silva and hazard on one wing, Yaya and Gerrard in the middle, and Suarez and Sturridge up top.

He's improved so much over the last 6 months. Everything about his game, even his defensive contribution. Him and Henderson really do press well.

I think the issue for Hendersons chances are in CM you've got to give two places to Gerrard and Yaya. Can't see anything else, especially if Liverpool pick up the league. Henderson has been good this year but I wonder if we only notice it more because of how terrible he's been historically.

When you consider Sterlings age and stats, he's been brilliant. I do wonder though when form dips (won't be this season but will be next season I would imagine) how they will cope.
 
What has Silva done to deserve to be in the team of the season? He's been good in patches but no more than Barkley, Ramsey, Henderson and Lallana imo.

Agreed. And when they attempt to juggle CL games with PL games, how will they manage to keep the same intensity and freshness? It's why this season is so important for them winning the title.

There haven't really been any stand out CBs this year so I would say there could be a surprise entry in there.
 
Struggling to think of one with CBs. I couldn't possibly have Koscielny and Mertesacker as they have had some absolute shockers. Obviously none of ours either. Liverpool's haven't been up to the standard at times either despite being top.

I'd have to go for:

De Gea, Coleman, Cahill, C. Davies, Azpilicueta, Toure, Gerrard, Lallana, Hazard, Suarez, Sturridge
 
For me cahill is very underrated. I thought he was excellent in 2012 for Chelsea when they won the double. He is very sleek, he is a very similar player to carvalho imo, although not at that level, but definitely not a million miles off. I thought he was very good vs Barcelona and in the final vs munich. His reading of the game is very good and he is very good with the ball at his feet. he is also a good header of the ball and he is fast and can keep up with a lot of quick strikers. I definitely think cahill should have a good shout to be in the team of thes eason this year.

Aguero and Ramsey have been great but have both missed so much football, and left back is a bit of a joke position this year.

The fact that that midfield would get mullered by a top CL side feels appropriate.
 
I'd say it should be:

Ramsey and Aguero miss out because of injuries.

Put Silva in there even though he hasn't actually played all that many games this season, just a few more than Ramsey and Aguero I think. He's been excellent whenever I've seen him play though.

GK was hard because unlike others I haven't been blown away by DDG compared to his other seasons but then no one else has stood out either. CB was also hard but I have been impressed with Terry when I've seen him and Kompany against us at least aways looks like the best CB on the planet. CM I could of gone with Gerrard over Fernandinho but the City pairing just took it. Was tempted to find a place for Barkley but went for Sturridge instead.

Fernandinho has been better than Henderson and Barry. I'd put him in ahead of Ramsey only because of the latter's injury. I'd argue he's been better than Gerrard but I'll probably get shot down by a few for saying that.

I dunno. He's been good in a very good side. Gerrard has helped carry a decent side (along with two others), ramsey was the star that got arse on top of the league. It's difficult to put him above others with the injuries though, he could have fallen apart just as much as the rest of them.
