Given the PFA announcements have been made and not much is going to change in the closing weeks here's my Team of the Season

------------------De Gea------------------
Coleman--Kompany--Terry--Azpilicueta
----------Y.Toure--------Fernandinho----------
-------------------Silva-------------------
Sturridge--------Suarez--------Hazard

GK was hard because unlike others I haven't been blown away by DDG compared to his other seasons but then no one else has stood out either. CB was also hard but I have been impressed with Terry when I've seen him and Kompany against us at least aways looks like the best CB on the planet. CM I could of gone with Gerrard over Fernandinho but the City pairing just took it. Was tempted to find a place for Barkley but went for Sturridge instead.

This, but Gerrard over Fernandinho. If it was anything otherwise I'd be surprised.

Kompany  The new John Terry, although he's got a good shout this year.

Mine:

Howard

Coleman Koscielny Mertesacker Azpilicueta

Toure Gerrard

Sterling Hazard Sturridge

Suarez

De Gea; Coleman, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta; Gerrard, Toure, Silva; Suarez, Sturridge, Hazard.

I'd have same defensive line and GK but :

-----------Gerrard
--Touré------------Fernandinho
Sturridge---Suarez--------Silva

------------------De Gea------------------
Coleman--Mertesacker--Cahill--Azpilicueta
----------Y.Toure--------Gerrard----------
-------------------Silva-------------------
Sturridge--------Suarez--------Hazard

Kompany  The new John Terry, although he's got a good shout this year.

Howard

Coleman Koscielny Mertesacker Azpilicueta

Toure Gerrard

Sterling Hazard Sturridge

Suarez

I rate Kompany, but this season he has been poor. He doesn't deserve to be in there, agreed.

Marshall
Coleman - Koscielny - Terry - Baines
Gerrard - Toure - Ramsey
Hazard - Suarez - Silva

De Gea
Coleman - Cahill - Koscienly - Azpilicueta
Toure - Ramsey
Hazard - Suarez - Silva
Sturridge

Over-rated team of the season:

Marshall

Clyne Lovren Kompany Clichy

Fernandinho Barry

Willian Coutinho Remy

Negredo

Marshall has been good.
I rate Clyne.
Lovren has been very good for the most part.
Barry has been excellent.
Willian has been excellent.
Coutinho and Remy have been inconsistent.
I rate Negredo.

Marshall
Coleman - Koscielny - Terry - Baines
Gerrard - Toure - Ramsey
Hazard - Suarez - Silva

Not sure Baines deserves a spot. He's not been great this year.

Worst Team of the Season of players who have played relatively regularly

Boruc

Delaney Hooiveld Dawson Walker

Tettey Cattermole

Lennon Weimann Valencia

Van Wolfswinkel

Clyne hasn't been that good, he's often been sidelined for the young Chambers. Barry hasn't been that good and Willian is a winger who defends first and contributes offensively second. Don't see the appeal at all, to be honest.

De Gea

Coleman
Terry
?
Azpilicueta

Toure
Gerrard

Hazard
Suarez
Sterling

Sturridge

Can't think of a second cb tbh, and i'm not sure about Silva. He's been great lately but before that i can't remember him being all that good.

 I take it you don't agree then.

Marshall has actually been pretty hopeless except his camera saves. His positioning is woeful - never comes off his line either. Look at Amalfitano's goal against him as an example. He's been massively over-rated all year.

Lovren started well and has been pretty average since about November.

Barry has been pretty standard. A plodder with an energetic and great McCarthy around to help.

William cost £30m and he doesn't score or assist. He runs a lot.

Negredo started well but has now reverted to the relatively above average striker he is.

I think both he and Clyne look very good. It hasn't been that often. Barry for me has been one of the best signings of the season. He's been crucial for Everton along with McCarthy.

Basically this.

Willian really annoys me. You feel like there's an attacking player there but he's stifled so much by his manager because he has a good engine.

It's often McCarthy who has adorned the abilities of Barry, as Alastair states. He has been decent at the very best, I wouldn't say he deserves a position in the 'overrated XI' but I do agree some people seem to overstate his influence on the midfield.

I've seen Marshall a few times and in each game he's looked good. Every keeper has a rick in them.

Agreed re. Lovren. His form dropped off around January.

I think you underrate Barry.

Willian has been very good for Chelsea. Suits their system perfectly and does very well in it. He does need to add more goals.

I don't agree regarding Negredo.

Whilst that may be true he does the job he's asked very well and ends up contributing a lot to his side. I think he's been excellent for them, Fergie would of loved him

Seriously - check Marshall out in the next game and you'll see how he literally does nothing but save the odd shot. He's an absolute nightmare in every other task he has to do.

And Willian suits their incredibly defensive system very well. Whether that's a good thing for an attacking player is rather debatable.

De Gea
Coleman Cahill Terry Azpilicueta
Toure Gerrard
Sturridge Silva Hazard
Suarez

It was really difficult to chose between Zabaleta and Coleman on that right side but I chose Coleman because of his remarkable improvement over the course of the season.

De Gea;
Coleman, Terry, Mertesacker, Shaw;
Lallana, Toure, Gerrard, Hazard;
Suarez, Sturridge.

Curtis Davies should be making everybody's team. Bracketed players are players who I think come very close to making the team.

----------------------------De Gea

Coleman (Ward)----- Davies-----Terry-----Azpilicueta (Gibbs)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------
Toure (Fernandinho)-Gerrard--------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------
Willian/Sterling---------------------------000000--Lallana-----
--------------------
--------------------
Suarez------Sturridge------------------------------------

Boruc "worst" starting keeper? Obviously his howler against Arsenal still fresh in the memory. Marshall being "hopeless" is utter nonsense as well. I've seen Chesney have some howlers this season. Oscar's goal at Stamford Bridge was terrible goalkeeping for example.

Marshall

Coleman Mertesacker Terry/Cahill Azpilicueta

Toure Gerrard

Silva Aguero Hazard

Suarez

@alastair Delaney is a CB at Palace, though I'd agree if you were to put Dean Moxey in at left back. He's been horrible.

De Gea
Sagna (Coleman) - Koscielny - Terry - Azpilicueta
Sturridge - Yaya Touré - Fernandinho (Gerrard) - Hazard
Silva
Suaréz

De gea
Coleman terry mertesacker azpilicueta
Toure Gerrard
Silva Suarez hazard
Sturridge

Got an overrated season XI for yo' ass

Marshall
Clyne Terry Kompany Baines
Rodriguez Barkley Fellaini Johnson
Lukaku Rooney

And before anybody says duuuurrrr nobody even rates XXX, remember that however low they are rated it isn't enough.

Team of the year last year.

This year, only De Gea has a chance of getting in the team. Shows how bad our season has been.

Could Henderson be in it this year?

It's a good shout. He's got to be in the mix at least. Perhaps someting like this:

-----------------------De Gea
Coleman --- Koscielny --- Terry --- Azpilicueta
-------Yaya Touré - Gerrard - Henderson
Sturridge-------------------------------Hazard
----------------------Suaréz

Although if not for injury, Ramsay would be first pick for midfield.

Trust you once again to pollute another thread with the same tripe as hundreds of others. Not every single thread has to be about our terrible season and how bad Moyes is, you know.

I think that's a decent team. But I think Silva probably comes in ahead of Henderson and playing at 10 with Gerrard and Yaya as holding.

Thats fair. Was just attempting a side that could fit Henderson in. Silva has been excellent.
