Yes, Mickey as left back.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

Fergie should have retired, and you could have been the new God at Old Trafford.

We fail to win the league this year, and you come along and we win it with ten players.

Amazing.

I know you've corrected it later, but I'm just pissed off that you want to drop Ole (only 25 goals) Solskjaer, and replace him with Dunn.

There's loyalty for you.

What about:

Barthez
Brown, Nesta, Thuram, Silvestre
Becks, Keane, Scholes, Giggs
Van Nistelrooy, Solskjaer

----------------------Bartez--------------------

Brown------------Nesta------Blanc--------Silvestre

Becks----------Keano---------Veron-----------Giggs

--------------------------------Duf---------------

--------------------RVN---------------------------

Solksjaer, Butt, Scholes, GNeville, OShea to play at least 30% of games

Why does everyone want to keep barthez? He makes so many bad mistakes...

Dont know about brown or Blanc Finnan instead of Brown. Blanc?

I'm amazed at how many people think Nesta would do well in the EPL - surely he is a very italian style defender? Not the biggest or tallest of guys either is he?

it's obviously the "name" i prefer we look elsewhere with the amoutn of money that he will command.

Keane
Beckham
Scholes
Solskjaer
Van Nistelrooy
Neville G
Butt
Giggs
Neville P

That is the heart of the team - the players are United thru and thru.

Nicky Butt wouldn't get to play every game. Phil Neville would play probably less. But they are good squad players. The others are The Magnificent Seven, true reds. You build around that lot. Not saying that Barthez and Silvestre aren't worth keeping. I'd give Johnsen another year as well. But those 9 are the heart and soul of United.

Well its pointless doing a team for next season because the way we play it is have a main 18/19 players rather than a main 11.
but anyway
Barthez
Neville Brown O'Shea Lizarazu
Beckham Keane Veron Giggs
Van Nistelrooy Solskjaer

A:
Barthez
G Neville

Ole is an integral part of the squad (goes without saying) as for the winning the league with 10 players we nearly done it this year

;)
It was early hours when I typed the team <img src="graemlins/yawn.gif" border="0" alt="[Yawn]" />

Mine:

---------------------Given--------------------
Finnan----------Nesta------Thuram--------Silvestre

Beckham---------Keano--------Scholes---------Giggs

--------------------------------Duff--------------

--------------------RVN---------------------------

Why does everyone think Nesta is short? The guy's about 6' 3" - well tall enough. Although I freely admit that he may take a year to adapt to the English game.

GK: Barthez

RB: Finnan
LB: Micky
CB: Gary
CB: Ayala

RM: Beckham
LM: Giggs
CM: Veron / Scholes
CM: Keane

ST: Ruud
ST: Ole

Subs:

Carroll
Brown
O'Shea
Phil
Forlan
Butt

Barthez - brilliant 80 per cent of the time
Carroll - hasn't really been tested

Butt - Becks - Keane - Giggs - Scholes - Veron: Superb midfield, as long as Seba adapts to our way of playing, not the other way round.

Ruud - Ole: World-class partnership. Jury still out on Forlan, so we need at least one, maybe two, covering strikers.

Neville G: Has proved himself this year

Silvestre: Still can't make my mind up, tho he has improved.

Brown: Same as for Silvestre

O'Shea: Promising.

Verdict:

Superb in midfield and attack, where we just need cover.

We need defenders and/or organisation - put that right and we're looking good. Things really aren't that bad.

Barthez
Emerton
Ayala
Thuram
Silvestre
Becks
Keano
Schlosey
Rivaldo :)
Van Nistlerooy

Subs
Landreau
But
Solskjaer
Duff
G Neville

Fab
Silvestre
Blanc
Tudor
Giggs
Keane
Veron/Scholes
Becks
Ronaldo :)
Ruud.

GK: Barthez, Carroll

RB: Gaz Nev, Brett Emerton, Wesley Brown
CB: Ayala/Thuram/Tudor?, Brown, O'Shea, G Nev
LB: Silvestre, Bridge

RM: Becks, Emerton

ST: RVN, OGS, Cissé, Forlan

As Mikhail said, why does everyone think nesta is short??? All the stats on the net show 1.86 = about 6'2". This plus the fact that he's quite fast promises good things in the EPL.

Before coming out with the team for next season, some things to consider. Cannavaro seems almost certain to Juve, that would mean Thuram is definitely set to leave, likely destination Man Utd. Highly unlikely, Nesta will leave Italy, and also a big question with his ability to adjust to the EPL. It's a rarity to hear of a top Italian player moving to the EPL at his prime, more likely that he will go to Spain. There is definitely a need for cover for both Beckham and Giggs. We are much better with a 4-4-2. We need another striker of quality, looks like Kluivert might be available. So why not put Kluivert and RVN together. Need another goalkeeper, or we might use Luke Steele as the replacement for Rai, but still how strong is Barthez mentally. He seems very distracted with Girlfriend problems, can we rely on him. Might be better going for a new keeper, I would still say go for Shay Given. Finally, Forlan needs to get a lot stronger to make any impact in the EPL, right he is being pushed off the ball a little to easily. So here's the likely team for next season.

Given

Gary Neville-----Thuram------Blanc-------Silvestre

Beckham-------Keane---------Scholes------Giggs

RVN---------Kluivert

I like your name - Loco. It suits you. :)

Another who would like to drop Ole "25 goals" Gunnar, and replace him with someone like Kluivert who has turned United down twice.

Spot the glory-hunters.

Fabian
Silvestre
Blanc
Thuram/Tudor/Hofland/Brown?
G Neville(been very good this season)
Giggs
Keane
Veron/Scholes/Butt.
Becks
Ole
Ruud.

we might need another striker..TBH i'd love us to buy a different type of forward to Ole and Ruud, due to the fact we've failed to break down all out defensive teams, this season..maybe we need someone who can mix it up a bit..... just a thought.

(I agree with Livvie, Forlan looks more like a midfield player)

he's a quality forward..and has impressed me this season.. but whether SAF'll get a player who's turned us down twice is doubtful..

but who knows..

How much would he cost though? I see the bulk of our transfer kitty being spent on defenders.

Kliuvert misses as many chances as Akinbiyi. Only he gets much more and scores in spain as a result
:D

I prefer RVN & OGS upfront. They're already the most accurate and most successful strike partnership in the world, so there's no need to change things unless of course a player like Djibril Cisse comes available.

As for next years lineup..... it will be as follows

- - - - - - - - - Barthez - - - - - - - - - - -

G.Neville/Brown -- Thuram -- Blanc -- Silvestre

Beckham - - Keane - - Veron/Scholes - - Giggs

- - - - - Van Nistelrooy - - - Solskjaer - - - -

Is Fergie any closer now than he was when he bought him to solving how best to play Veron in the premiership???
At least he's found out how NOT to play him...
it seems like there's only one way Juan can really play and that's the Argentina way...

so if Fergie REALLY doesn't sell Veron then

In:
A world class centre half in his prime
A right back that's better going forward than gneville
A real competitor for Silvestre
A proven premiership striker

Barthez

Contra
Thuram
Blanc/O'Shea
Chivu

Beckham
Keane
Scholes

Veron

Van Nistelrooy
Solskjaer/Giggs

Bench:

G Neville
Brown
Di Canio
Forlan

or he could just say that he's not for sale now (what else is he going to say? Veron has been hugely disappointing) and then sell him on the back of a blinding world cup, put it down to experience, stick with Gary Nev., get Thuram though and competition for Silvestre (Chivu might be stretching it but can't think of anyone else) and use whats left to buy
An expensive inside forward or striker
An alternative attacking midfield player of potential
A more dominating and consistent goalie

In that case:

Haventgotaclue

GNeville
Thuram
Blanc/O'Shea
Silvestre/Competitor

Beckham
Keane
Scholes
Giggs/Duff

Gudjohnsen
Ruud Van Nistelrooy/Solskjaer
