Pure speculation until any decision is made, but for me, United will become tainted with state ownership.

With the leech like ownership of the Glazers, at least we had something to rail against and we were unified in the hatred of all they represented.

But unfortunately some see the ownership of an oil rich state with extremely dubious morality as a win win situation.

It is merely the latest sad acquisition in a Middle Eastern dick swinging contest that has absolutely nothing to do with the origins of United.

Whilst I might still watch, it will be with a heavy heart and possibly the end of my love of football.

Sometimes I feel I've got to run away
I've got to get away
From the pain you drive into the heart of me
The love we share seems to go nowhere
And I've lost my life
For I toss and turn, I can't sleep at night
Once I ran to you (I ran)
Now I run from you
This tainted love you've given
I give you all a boy could give you
Take my tears and that's not nearly all
Tainted love
Tainted love
Now, I know I've got to run away
I've got to get away
You don't really want any more from me
To make things right you need someone to hold you tight
And you think love is to pray
But I'm sorry I don't pray that way
Once I ran to you (I ran)
Now I run from you
This tainted love you've given
I give you all a boy could give you
Take my tears and that's not nearly all
Tainted love
Tainted love
Don't touch me, please, I cannot stand the way you tease
I love you though you hurt me so
Now I'm gonna pack my things and go
Tainted love (oh)
Tainted love (oh)
Tainted love (oh)
Tainted love (oh)
Touch me, baby, tainted love
Touch me, baby, tainted love
Tainted love (oh)
Tainted love (oh)
Tainted love

I agree, brother. Surprised to see such a positive reaction at the caf.

All the best.

Man you guys don’t have to announce every thing you guys want to do in your personal lives

Just turn the tv off or change the channel. damn

I'm surprised that this sort of stance hasn't been brought up in any other thread.

You kinda ruined it with this

You feel didn't get enough attention by posting the same message several times in the thread discussing this topic?

Please, please, please not state ownership.
It’s wrong on so many levels.
Do the fans even get a say in this?
United has enough revenue to basically run itself if we aren’t paying debts off.
So please let it be Ratcliffe or similar.
Why are there so many delighted about state ownership?!
Opposition fans would view us as no better than City.
This club can run off its own income. We’ll forever be tagged as lottery winners with this outcome.
That’s before the backwards morals of the owners. As a father of daughters, I couldn’t morally support such a regime.
If the Qataris bought us then if…

We could see some real progress regarding women’s rights, LGBT rights and basic human rights then it would all be hunky dory.
But I can’t see that happening just because they bought United.
Regimes love to keep the status quo of men being in charge and pretending to the outside world that they ‘promise’ to make changes.
Will there be any stipulations like keeping United on their current managerial trajectory?
Or will it be take the money and run?
For all we know, the Qataris might jettison Ten Hag and get Zidane in and spend billions making a mess of the current upward trajectory.
Who knows?
What I DO know is that Ten Hag is doing something incredibly right and he should be part of any sale
Well said. I’m concerned that it will all be ‘for show’.
After all, that is what the end goal is for them - sportswashing. Making their regime ‘seem’ modern whilst continuing to oppress people in their own country.
It could be all about the glossy show they want to present with superstars that don’t actually gel as a team, much like the bollox that is PSG
(No one is giving me attention in the other thread. Let me create one and finish it with “I might still watch us”. )

Maybe the Glazers will buy another team with their loot, which will be more palatable for some to support? Could even find a place for Woodward and get the team back together

What’s the alternative?

The Glazers have crippled us and continue to do so.
I have been railing against the Glazers for years but isn’t the alternative… this season?

The upturn this season has brought could well be overtaken with a Tsunami of ridiculous amounts of investment.

Oh, I dunno. I’m just concerned about lil ol United becoming a corporate whore…

When I saw Tainted Love I thought this was going to be about inappropriate ETH dreams.

It's not like it's middle East oil money over a positive situation. None of these billionaires and hedge funds are buying the club for its origins or history

What If?

With the money they get from the United sale, the Glazers will then leverage a buy out of Liverpool?!

Oh happy days!

We needed a midfielder, striker and goalkeeper in this window but the debt that the Glazers have put us in means that we could only loan players while other sides were spending hundreds of millions.

I don't want to be owned by a country but the Glazers need to go and we can't be brought by someone else who is leveraging debt.

Yeah they will have enough to buy Liverpool and then make some big money moves for Phil Jones and Eric Bailley. Obviously using newly incurred debt from the takeover to pay for it. Install Rangnick as manager after booting out Klopp. It would be a Glazer paradise.

Outta here. I know a lot will say don’t let the door hit you etc, but I’m shocked at the positivity around state ownership

Yes it’s baffling posters are willing to overlook the 18 year reign of the Glazers because Ten Hag is doing wonders.

He had to beg just to get two loan deals this winter whilst every one of our rivals spent sums of money strengthening their squads.

They have totally mismanaged us for years and bleed the club dry.. great alternative

What is the purpose of insulting someone for wishing their club wasn’t owned by people with deplorable human rights?

Surely, even if you’re willing to ignore it you can see why being owned by a group who look down on the most vulnerable will upset people?
This is a person who is gutted the club he loves is compromised? And this is what you post?

Moral merchants. I’d be amazed if even 1% of those who say they’ll be quitting the club don’t celebrate the first trophy we win under new ownership.
