Sunderland fans

As I said in the other thread... at half-time they cheered louder for City being 1-0 up against QPR, then they did for Newcastle being 2-0 down against Everton, which sums it all up really.

A lot of fans tend to enjoy taking pleasure in other peoples pain... and they were no different today.

I remember Sunderland supporters singing "YAWN" at Old Trafford a few seasons back.
Yeah I remember that, it was a game where Saha scored, I was right next to the away fans and wondered why they were doing that, but then I found out that they apparently do sing that for some reason and its not to do with the dippers.

I don't but this "any club would do it" stuff. Although I think most fans would have taken the opportunity to wind us up today, Sunderland fans took it to another level. There's something about the North-East - they consider us rivals and we don't give a feck - that must've been a factor in the Mackem's orgasmic joy after City's goal.

To be honest I thinke very team would've indeed. We would've done it as well if it the roles where otherwise (ie Newcastle winning or similar to Sunderland).

"Banter".

Course any club would have. That's what fans do. They chant insults and wind-ups at each other, even if they're not big rivals.

Of course, I sometimes feel a tiny bit bad when we hassle the relegation fodder. Only a tiny bit.

Cheers Stookie, I didnt know that.

True.

Pathetic really.

Comes with the terretory. We would be doing the same if another team (eg Liverpool) had won the league so much the past 20 years and then lost it in this way.

I don't think it's pathetic.

On a serious note if you take into account Sunderland fans, scousers (obviously), Traore and Cisse celebrating with City players...are you getting the feeling Man Utd still aren't really liked in this country by players and supporters? Respected yes, but liked?

Ralaks, I remember when Arsenal pipped us to the 1989 title. The country was ecstatic. Not so much because they disliked us but because they just wanted to see someone else win. I don't get the same vibe when Man Utd lose.

I think Liverpool were, and still are, pretty disliked to be honest.

United aren't well liked as they have won so much of late and people don't like Fergie.

"Hearing Sunderland fans cheer when City score sums them lot up!! Worry about your own team you were beaten today!!," he (Bruce Jnr) wrote.

It's kinda the same as the general feeling is in Denmark right now - FC Copenhagen who've been more or less as dominant as United had been is about to lose the title to newcomers, I don't really care much for the football here in general - but I'm happy to see the title go elsewhere, I'd believe a lot of fans would feel the same way.

For feck sake, I even quoted you. You said Traore and Cisse.

And of course the Sunderland fans were, like ye, they get much more enjoyment from pissing on our almost tediously long victory parade. Have you really sank so low that you are now manufacturing kicks from Sunderland fans winding us up?

Have you ever been to a football match? Winding the other fans up is great, especially when your own team are shit. Sadly at A_nfield these days there is no entertainment on the pitch or from the stands.

No, I'm not wumming in this thread. I've got MOTD on record and will re-watch Cisse/Traore. You might be right.

Posts like this cheer me up immensely.
We really do manage to wind people up something fierce, don't we?
