Summer Transfers 2014

Villa sign defensive midfielder Carlos Sanchez from Elche on a four year deal

Danny Mills, BBC Radio 5 liveMan Utd 1-2 Swansea
"Montero did very, very well, floated the ball up, Ashley Young has no idea how to play left-back and has no idea where his player is. Young is caught under the ball and as the ball comes back inside from Routledge's volley it's an easy tap in from six or seven yards out. Ashley Young is the key to that. That's what happens when you play payers out of position."

Federico Fernandez ,Napoli defender having a medical at Swansea.

I think Swansea have brought some decent players in (while also letting some decent players go). They should be ok now I would think.

Michael Dawson from Spurs to Hull City.

@SpursOfficial: Daws: "I have been here for almost a decade and have loved every minute of it. #ThankYouDaws
@SpursOfficial: Daniel Levy: "He has always given everything for the Spurs shirt - just one of the reasons he is so deservedly popular throughout the Club.

Federico Fazio to Spurs from Sevilla - £8m

Will he be a starter for you?

Not sure, as I know very little about him. But he's Argentinian, like the manager, so I guess Pochettino knows what he's getting. Vertonghen is nailed on for one starting CB spot, so Fazio, Kaboul, Dier and Chiriches will have to compete for the other.

If I had to guess I'd say that Kaboul and Chiriches will lose out, whilst Dier - based on what I've seen so far - could be a star in the making. But Dier is very young, and is also needed for RB cover, so maybe (?) Fazio will be the man this season.

Benjamin Stambouli from Montpellier to Spurs - £6m seems to be most widely reported fee.

Lewis Holtby on loan to Hamburg from Spurs.

Zeki Fryers to C. Palace from Spurs - £3m.
