How long will it be without a second signing before we start getting restless?

Bailly has fed the muppet early, but I'm already hoping we announce something else soon. I think if it gets to about July 10 without another signing being sealed or close, we might get a few restless cafters on here

Probably not much action during the euros.
And players who perform well, will double their price.
Bleh!

This is going to be this seasons muppetry full swing, I ain't getting involved as I've retired as Thiago and Vidal pushed me over the edge of muppetry breakdown!

My thoughts exactly. There was a thread some time ago asking what the transfer saga this year will be.

This is probably not the right thread, but i wonder if the British clubs are waiting for the Brexit poll before any big fees moves. GBP has depreciated a lot in last 3 months.

Well its the Euro's so anyone who thinks there will be transfer news anytime soon will be disappointed. Expect things to ramp up after the tournament ends

I think a lot of big companies hold large reserves of foreign currency (especially those trading internationally) to protect themselves against market fluctuations, only buying Euros for example when the Pound is particularly strong. I'd be surprised if Woody has to take a briefcase full of banknotes down to the Beaurea d'exchange every time we buy a player, although nothing would surprise me.

It's difficult to hedge in football as nearly all transfer fees are paid through ammortization i.e. if a player signs a four year contract then an e.g. £40m fee payment will be paid at £10m per year to the seller over the course of the contract. I don't pretend to know what happens to acounts when a player is sold before that period ends but it won't affect the payment schedules that much. It's a big reason why the players that go for the biggest fees sign the longest duration contracts (Bale signing a 6 year deal) - the buyer can spread the payments/pay smaller amounts per year. Even when the Spanish banks prop up Reals fee:nono:
Long term FX rates will be important for forecasting overall transfer costs.

Wrll considering most respected economists think it'll get worse post brexit they'd be mad to wait (if we leave)...

More likely the euros.

I'm already restless. C'mon Woodward, get your finger out.

Telegraph: #LCFC offer Riyad Mahrez a new contract worth £100,000 a week.

About 15-16 years ago - United had a wage-ceiling of about £35.000 - and we almost lost Keane because of it. Now Leicester can offer players 3 times that. It's not a bad time to be a professional footballer is it ?

Both vardy and mahrez offered same deals. Kante hasnt been offered this. Maybe they have accepted he will leave ?

Good move for both.

West Ham and Everton will be up there next season challenging for a top 4 spot.
