It's a bit worrying to me that all the reports say things like: "is prepared to return". Makes it seem like he's just about ready to accept a transfer because it's a lot of money, but couldn't really care less and wanted to be at Madrid. Like Di Maria....

If he's thay desperate to stay at Madrid, he can stay at Juve and go to them eventually. Juve aren't pushing him out like AdM at Madrid.

Just a bit of Paranoia. How the reports write something and what they imply is not so interesting...

The main difference is that di maria had already reached the pinnacle of his career. His move to utd was a step down and he knew it. He came to utd as we were the only option.

Pogba wants to go to madrid, if he comes here he has to prove to madrid he's with it. Not much difference to ronaldo when he came to us and i think that worked out pretty well.

It's arrogant to think players should only join us that don't want to go to a better side (of which there are a few). By doing so we will only get players that have either no ambition to play for the best teams in the world or ones that will never be able to. I don't want either at United.

We need to buy these players at this point in their careers. When they have something to prove. It's what happens when/if these players do move on. Have they helped us get to a position where we can attract the best alongside the madrds and barcas of the world? Or do they leave and we replace them with substandard replacements like we did after ronaldo or liverpool did after Suarez

We ain't Madrids feeder club and I don't think the club think that way. We should focus on where we'll be in 3 years time as a club...Di Maria understood we weren't in the Champions League. Even when we signed him, LVG didn't really back him and we were quite happy for him to go.

Unfortunately in certain markets of players and specific conditions we are, Madrid's main attraction to Pogba is Zidane's presence there and we all know that Zidane won't last three seasons there. Besides the wages we are offering him will price him out of any move like it has done with Rooney and De Gea.

Yeah i'm not too concerned. I think we're in a good position but what will put us in a great one - is to get back to winning. I would agree, we don't know what role Zidane will play at Madrid in 3 years time. We should just get Scholes to work with Pogba. It's easy to forget we beat a very good Juve team in 99 - with Zidane in the team

I agree but I think we are closer to glory or consistently competing for things than people think because we now have a better manager, have kept De Gea, have added goals and creativity to the side, improved the defence and players like Martial and Rashford have gotten more established. He is arguably the signing that will complete our midfield and then Mourinho will get to culling and replacing the undesirables in the squad. In fact I think Mourinho is the most important signing we could have made and the evidence suggests that there has been no fecking around in the market - he has identified the players we needed and they have been swiftly signed leaving us with the most difficult of them all, taking Pogba from a 4 time Sirie A winner and perennial CL contender.

If you think players don't use us as a stepping stone to get to Madrid then you're fecking delusional.

We're not as big a draw as they or Barça are.

Some players prefer the Spanish giants over us - that's an undisputed fact.

However, we're certainly not seen as a stepping stone to get to Madrid just because it seemed that way with Ronaldo.

We gave them Heinze and Heinze wanted to go liverpool but only because Heinze lost his place to Patrice. We wanted rid of Becks and his bloody wife. Ruud I feel we lost as soon as we sold Beckham. He wasn't happy with Ronaldo and that led to him being dropped for Saha. Ronaldo was always going Spain at some point. In general they simply don't. There is a demographic that would prefer one over the other certainly. Also it helps when you've won 2 of the last 3 CL's but they are lucky they didn't face Barcelona or a munich (or someone with a history of winning these trophies). I think it's over rated, over stated. In Pogbas case it would make sense to have a preference for Spain before returning to England. However, it's not that much of a preference if he can be bought. Besides, sometimes people bring up money also - but Madrid would pay big wages and big money too. Most of these players are full of shit. It makes more sense for some then others. Bale for example - says he was a Madrid fan...sure sure...glory hunting Ronaldo Wannabe...but Madrid don't care. Bale don't care and we shouldn't care either.

OK, I did a quick google search and it said defensive midfielder and a defender. I thought he is primarily a defensive mid.
Ye, central defender. Did ok at the EURO's. Was great as a right back when the kids won the U21 EURO's. Didn't watch him at Benfica last season but he broke in to the starting eleven and was reportedly very good. What i can already tell is that he has an excellent mentality, works hard and doesn't seem to have any nerves. No idea if he's ready for the PL but the signs are promising.

The next month is going to be frantic with almost a month to go until Deadline Day

Action needs to really hot up in the market now with some tasty transfers happening.. it's tame thus far with the amount of money splashing about. Sky won't be happy if they don't smash the last transfer window record with their totalizer. Especially with the new Premier League money clubs should be flexing their muscles big style.

Just want to point out that Aguero is one of the most talented in the world at the moment - yet he hasn't had any desire to go to Real Madrid or Barcelona. I know it's rare, but it proves that there are good players that aren't lured by them. (Not counting the likes of Muller as he is a German playing at the biggest German club).

We're Manchester United ffs, it's not like we're West Ham or something.

I know not much about this Gomes dude, but i hope you sign him just to piss off Real Madrid.

RM really need to do some purchasing to be in top condition, Ronaldo is slowly regressing and Modric is also getting on. IMO they are the two only WC players they have.
