I hope Leicester know what they are doing.. handing out 100k contracts. spending 30m on average players.. They'll burn through their cash and be stuck with a huge wage bill...

It's unhealthy.

It is. If someone like Deeney goes for 40m what will Stones \ Barkley and the likes cost?

I think for the foreseeable future PL clubs will stop shopping from eachother, it is simply not sustainable. What will the foreign clubs think? The next time Leicester comes bargain bin shopping in France for some talent the French club will tell them to go feck themselves with the low bid and point to Deeney.

Well, "always choke" is a not a solid predictor for the future. I'd tentatively say that Man. City and Arsenal are the clear favourites ... leaving Spurs, United, Liverpool and perhaps Chelski to compete for the 3rd an 4th places.

But I'll wait until the transfer window is nearly closed before making any firm predictions.

I'd say when they have been choking for a decade it's a fairly solid predictor, they don't fail to win leagues because they don't have talented players, it's the "4th is a title" mentality that Wenger has installed, and I know everyone worships Guardiola but I don't think it's a given that he'll come in and just immediately piss gold, he wont have the talent at his disposal that he had at Barca and Bayern for starters, nor will their be the training session 6-0 stroll outs in the PL. I think the league is wide open right now, with no clear favourites.

EPL clubs might have money but a market where Deeney costs £30m is unsustainable.

I swear Ranieri is doing it so that we can say after he's retired that he always got his man.

Don't know what's more ridiculous - the Deeney mindfeck or the notion that Arsenal are "clear favourites" for something.

In a world where Troy fkn Deeney is being bid on for £30m+, and Watford are turning it down (!) there's no wonder Juventus want €120m for Pogba.

The PL is destroying the market.

And also, what the fek are Leicester playing at? I thought they had incredible scouts finding gems all across the globe? surely they can find a better use for £30m than this!?

Even if this mad £30m Deeney transfer happens, Andy Carroll for £35m will still be the stupidest transfer in Premier League history.

Maybe I should send them my paypal address.

I'm just wondering what it's like on the Leicester boards right now. Can't imagine they're jumping for joy over this!

Imagine the shame of their accountant, forced to write a 30m cheque for Troy Deeney.

If Troy Deeney is worth 30M£, let's just call Dortmund, offer 35 to 40M£ for Miki and get the transfer done with if we really are in for him. I am sure they'll sell at that price now, but if Deeney goes for 30M or more, they might ask 50 for Miki!!

PL transfers are gonna be crazy this season..

Ron vlaar could barely keep up the pace at Aston villa. At United, he would have been worse than Blackett and Evans were for us last year. Rojo was decent at CB unlike at LB anyway.

Evans was a better player than Rojo for us. Id say Blackett was a better comparison

Is there something the rest of the world is missing here? How the feck is this gollum worth an arm and a leg?

He is a very good finisher, reliable, has a good amount of assists, is a workhorse (like most Leicester players), in his prime (28 this year)and is a leader. 30m is a lot but 15-20 would be fair I suppose.

Watford got £74.5m in prize money last season and with the team finishing bottom in 2016-17 apparently set to get over £100m, Premier League clubs can hold out for huge fees for their players from other interested PL clubs. Deeney isn't worth that much but Watford don't want to sell and can afford to hold out for huge fees for their captain and second highest scorer behind Ighalo.

Evans of 2012 was. Evans of last year was getting ripped by QPR and MK dons

Maybe so but Rojo was every bit absyml. Horrible season last season by him looked an utter excuse. Seen more graceful donkeys ride a bike than the way Rojo was on the ball.

Yeah he seems like one of those guys who's worth more to Watford than they might gain by selling him but Leicester raising the bids by the day is kind of strange given their strong scouting network. Surely they can find a viable alternative elsewhere for cheaper.

Not really rojo had a decent season last time mostly played at CB. This season he was third/fourth choice CB and second choice LB. He had played well enough to earn that

I read that as Liverpool rather than Leicester for Deeney, was about to spontaneously combust.

Yeah it's weird, all I can think of is they might be concerned about the number of home grown players they have (12). Though that said they signed Zieler who applies for it.
