Maybe it's just me, but that scene gave me huge House of Cards vibes. Only that whereas in HoC they were mostly used to show little "intimate" moments to remind us that they were in fact a couple, this felt like the opposite - deeply dysfunctional.
The guy definitely killed himself, I find it incredible that Kendall is regarded as killer from that scene.
Yeah, for me the issue is that after S1-3 Kendall should be completely done as any kind of serious CEO option. To retake that plot in S4 yet again, only to end up with the same conclusion, seems a bit pointless.
True. I think that's a weak point of the series as a whole - there's no real character progression, and with no development in either the characters or the world they inhabit, you're at risk of becoming a soap. No matter how good the dialogue is.
I don't think the series finale was great, it was fine but I don't think I'd rank it as one of the best episodes of the show. Overall, season 4 wrapped things up in a satisfactory way, albeit somewhat predictable, which was fine. It was a little bit all over the place at time (the whole corporate intrigue isn't that great in this season), but it also hit some incredible heights with Logan's death episode, and the funeral one. The election night episode was good too, but it felt a bit too ridiculous, to an extent - but maybe it's actually closer to reality than I realise. Still a very good episode, mind.
Overall a great show, not sure where I'd rank it in my favourites, a little bit behind my absolute favourites but quite high nonetheless.

Feel the same. I'd put it in my top 20 but a couple of seasons ago I would have thought it would end up top 5.
It's easily top 5 for me. I thought the ending was brilliant.
Quite similar to how I feel. Still a great show, but just not up there at the top (for me).

I though the whole thing was excellent although I didn't feel very satisfied with the ending. The again I'm not sure what ending would have worked for me as they were all despicable people. Despite some excellent performances in the last few episodes you did feel that sudden removal of Logan left a gap that was almost impossible to fill. Maybe him staying an episode or two longer may have been better but then the plot would have been even more rushed at the very end.
Not up there with Breaking Bad or The Wire for me but still very good indeed.

Why should there be character progression in these characters? The most interesting aspect is the fact that they are all adult children. They’ve never developed in 40 years of life, why will they ever? It’s the lack of change that sees them all fail without their father as they’re not real people.
The closing shot and the music was exceptional though.
Yes. And that was the whole point of the programme. A load of incompetent people reaching positions way way about their ability.
That and saying fxxk you all the time.

Nobody grew or changed across four seasons. People expecting that because Breaking Bad and others did it… missing the point.
They are narcissistic Billionaires incapable of self reflection. With no societal pressure to grow a spine or develop compassion.

I’ve been rewatching peep show and a lot of the succession characters just feel like a mish mash of Jeremy
Also a writer on The Thick of It. I think he already has his hat trick.
Finally finished it. What a great show.
The finale did feel rushed though. Shiv's turn is understandable but seemed to come out of nowhere after they had reconciled at their mum's house. That final scene with the three of them arguing was a fitting send off to their relationships but apart from Roman sitting at the bar, finally free from the family business, I don't feel like any of them got a decent resolution.
Greg is still Tom's ride or die, though. That makes me happy.

Looking online, I seem to be one of the few who was really rooting for Ken, gutted with his ending but it fits the show.
It's some going and a sign of a great show that it actually made me sad to see someone failing whilst walking away with $2,000,000,000+
So, I ask what can I watch next that won't feel like a massive step down? Between this and Better Call Saul I feel truly spoilt.

The Bear, and Severance. Very different shows, both excellent.
Watched Severance and agree it was very good.
May look into The Bear, also been recommended The Wire by a mate.
I'm up to speed on Foundation. Not sure what to make of season 2 so far. If you enjoy that and somehow haven't already, watch The Expanse.
Oh if you haven't seen The Wire, you should. It's a GOAT tier TV show.

I know it's drama and make believe but there is no point to his character and no way some twat like him would be anywhere near such a job.

I am jealous that you get to experience the wire for the first time. It is one of the only shows i have and will ever watch more than once. A masterpiece on so many levels. Prioritize that show.
Ha! That was my exact first thought (as articulated above). Succession was good, and in parts great, but it is not close to the same caliber as the wire.
On Succession, I am so glad that all the little shit kids get owned in the end. That was so satisfying.
I also heard the Tom actor in an interview the other day and it was weird and surprising that to hear a british voice. That happens a lot with actors these days it seems.

Having moved in some similar circles to those portrayed in the show...Greg having a job in a place like that isn't all that unrealistic actually. And yes, that is sad. I do enjoy the interplay between him and Tom as comic relief. In some ways they provide the best social commentary of the show.
It is but I wonder how well it has aged technology wise? Might be fine as that as the technology at the time of course.
And to anyone watching it for the firt time remember that it is a very slow burn at first so stick with it for at least 5 episodes.
