Strong Worthy team for you lot...

1) Carroll played in goal, our third choice.

2) GNev has just returned from injury, so could do with the game. Same for Rio.

3) David May, our fifth choice CB had his yearly outing.

4) John O'Shea has not played much recently so could have done with a game.

5) Forlan normally only gets subs appearances.

6) Becks is the strange one, although he is suspended for the weekend which would explain his choice

7) Fortune needs a game.

8) PNev Hardly our first choice?.

9) Ole normally only gets subs appearances.

10) Nardiello gets in for experiences.

Hardly a first team though was it Davo?.</strong><hr></blockquote>

Did I say it was?

Far stronger a side than you normally select for this comp tho isn't it?

You still don't get it do you?

Yes, the league games are sold out at Anfield but week in week out season ticket holders fail to turn up to watch.

Even if they can't get to Anfield themselves you would have thought they would have found someone to make use of their ticket.

What are you going on about?

Whats this got to do with the Mancs failing to sell out their ground? Something that has not occured to my knowledge until this season...

it is indeed, but who knows whats going on in the reserves? players could be injured so replacements had to be put in, but it was an odd side that he put out.

I think it's an embarassment

Look at the shit names on the cup

It's for the likes of Liverpool and that's the way it should remain

Well it doesn't happen very often, but it does happen, tends to be CL qualifiers and home League Cup games. Neither of which have happened much over the last few years. Last night we were about 70% of capacity, lets see what happens at Anfield tonight against a Premiership team? Are you going?

We'll play a strong team yes, I expect certain squad players to get a chance but we generally play a decent side..

You don't usually tho, it seems a bit strange that you have this year doesn't it?</strong><hr></blockquote>

Decent side like birmingham in the final
feck off scouser

Probably because of the opinions of Filho and Queiroz. Clearly playing complete reserve sides hasn't done any good in years past. Building youngsters' confidence is probably better achieved with a fairly strong side.

Fergie's old ideas of sink or swim weren't working, so he's trying something different. Amazing that we can't do such things nowadays without some scouse git making sarky comments.

Then again... it's only to be expected isn't it?

Strong side you put out last night. Perhaps you feel its your best chance of silverware this season?</strong><hr></blockquote>

We usually put out a strong side tho,and we made 10 changes from Saturday and still beat "on form" Southampton 3-1..

liverpool ALWAYS go all out in the Worthless cup.. because it's the only trophy they can actually beat United to it.. and that gives them confidence to go all out in the Worthless cup every season.. it's the Cup where United doesn't care.. it's the cup where liverpool feel most comfortable in..

this clearly shows liverpool thinks a lot of United as a team from a totally deifferent league.. a higher one too!

I'd have liked to have seen Tierney at left back, even though O'Shea was brilliant there (what a fecking player he's becoming), and some players in their natural positions would have been nice. We won, though we still struggled to score even against Leicester City, and its important for the confidence of kids, like Richardson, that they're on the winning side, and in his case, got a goal.

ok we only had 47k at a home game WoW ?? it must have been fairly empty  take 21k off a full house at Anfield and how many are you left with? you can count the players and officials ;)

ah.. players playing out of position seems to be a regular thing for us this season.. i think it's a blessing in disguise though that we can still try to play players out of positions during the season. just goes to show how much SAF is planning ahead for when there are more injuries later on in the season..

i don't entirely agree with it either, but i think he may have a point in doing this. let's hope he doesn't leave it too late before finally putting players in their natural positions though.
