No thanksWould people take Icardi?

There is a system? Not a good fit for this system that we play
Give me Timo Werner on loan.
no way Muller leaves Bayern on loan after just renewing. Then you factor in his age and he'd just be here as a by the way. Coming to a league he isn't used to. I'm a Muller fan boi but I wouldn't recommend it. Werner makes far better sense. You convince him to come he'd be motivated to play out his skin to go to the Euros for Germany. He is both used and has the pace and work ethic for the leagueWanted to sign him at Leipzig, however much like Potter the Chelsea experience has put me off. Think I know what the answer will be but what do people think of Muller until end of season?
Thinks seem very quiet on the Striker front - Starting to think we won't get anyone in? Does seem like an huge lack of options to be fair.

I read somewhere this morning we were being linked with Lille striker Johnathon David, with Villa also linked to him.
But a price tag of 34 Million seems way out of our league for a January signing ,so probably just bullshit.
I seriously hope we dont sign Karim Benzema, as good as he has been over his career he is 36 now and I want us to move away from signing the aged players on high wages and would rsther us be looking at someone like Jonathon David.
Really thought Werner made sense. Pretty shocked if we weren't at least thinking about him, but gone now. Martial is a non-footballer. Poor Rasmus.
If we were any other club I'd say there was a plan. How'd McNeils loan go?

We have. But Werner certainly wasn't one of those dealsUtd have made a fine art this past decade of not going in for deals that made sense

Should go for Guirassy but doubt we will, can see another Weghorst very late in the window style deal for Choupo-Moting
Kyogo.
I think nothing happens unless Martial goes. Knowing the current regime it’ll go down to the last two days of the window.
What I don’t understand is why we aren’t fully prepared going into the window, spending December to start talks on the moves we want to make, being proactive, so that we confirm in the incomings and outgoings in the first week or two. We did it with Donny, but no doubt that was Frankfurt driving it rather than us.
I can understand talks taking longer if the selling club doesn’t want to sell and tactically wants to push us to panic spending later on. But if we’re the selling club then there is no excuse. Sancho for example especially given his circumstances should have had his move and agreement tied up before the window, instead we’re still faffing around and disagreeing on whether there is an option to buy or not.
Talking about strikers mate not dance music.

It would be crazy if the first INEOS signing was a player the club withdrew their interest in previously because of fan response.Werner doesn’t seem like most mentally strong player, so I struggled to see him being a success here given our current issues. On paper he was the most attractive loan option we had been linked to though I must say though.
I wonder if we will go through our scouting report archives and take another look at Arnautovic as a temporary solution. He isn’t getting much game time at Inter due to Lautaro having a blinder but he’s stylistically the type of 9 I think that could suit us and has a bit of that Ibra swagger to him. His contract is up in the summer which maybe makes a loan move tricky though so would likely be a perm.
We'd then have the CB pairing and striker Fergie wanted for this club all along. Albeit a decade or so late. Feck it, let's bring in Moura too, he's gotta be available. If Benzema can be loaned, that's a no-brainer.
Very difficult to source a competent striker on loan in January.
Realistically - what are we going for?
FA Cup? In that case with Rasmus, Rashford, Amad, Antony, Garnacho, Mct, Fernandes - in theory we have enough.
If we are going all out for the CL then we do need another striker on board. Although I think we'd be better off consolidating next season - go for the domestic trophies.
Get martial and Sancho out, Greenwood back in the summer. Varane gone, Casemiro gone - all of the sudden the wage bill looks much better.
Rashford may even be at PSG next season.
I think Ineos are looking are stability over instant returns. No point spunking money on superstars who dont really want to be here.

I think the liklihood is that the club will use agents to try wheel and deal a loan over the line this month, that seems to be how we operate.
Arnautovic was another Ten Hag target.Perhaps a good first move by INEOS would be to go for new signings recommended by our scouting department rather than worry about fan opinion. There was a similar reaction to Rabiot when we were linked and he ended having a great season at Juventus.
I expect your next response will point to the transfers we’ve made eg. Antony, Mount, Casemiro, etc. Well, judging by the recent Athletic article where it states our scouting dep valued Antony at £25m yet our scouts were ignored and we went and bought him for 3x more, I think we need to trust and use our scouts more.
Arnautovic was another Ten Hag target.
I mean, if we really want to lean into the scouting recommendations I'd remind you that they are the same scouts that recommended Wan-Bissaka after analysing hundreds of right-backs. They also recommend players like Pellestri and Amad who have failed to make the grade, although I accept Amad has a bit more time. In fact, the scouting incompetence has probably been a reason we have relied heavily on Ten Hag signings, which have also been poor. Until the INEOS review is completed and a structure put in place, I think the club will continue to work with agents in identifying targets - especially when they are realistically short-term signings. And how do you know this other than an article from the daily mail / the Sun putting two and two together just cos they had an overlapping 6 months at a club together?
Even if you’re right. That wasn’t the point you were making though was it?
Arnautovic was just off the back of a great season in Serie A, was stylistically a player that made sense for us, was familiar with the prem, has the mentality to play on the big stage, so maybe just maybe he also came up as a scouting recommendation as a cheap striker squad option, which in hindsight we could do with right now.
Are they? It's difficult to know who was making the calls when the players were being scouted. I don't actually know how disfunctional we may have been in that regard. I would be not surprised if scouts recommended better options but were overriden for more established players.I mean, if we really want to lean into the scouting recommendations I'd remind you that they are the same scouts that recommended Wan-Bissaka after analysing hundreds of right-backs. Absolutely drives me crazy when people say it's hard to do a deal in January or there are no options. There's probably 100 strikers around the world right now who would improve United. The vast majority of which would move in Jan if we paid the money.
We've one player who can play the role of centre forward, that is not enough for any team in the country at any level.
