Stewart Downing

do yas really think boro can get 15 million for him if and probably when they go down???

i was thinking more like 8 million - suppose it depends on the competition to sign him - there were rumours of liverpool last summer wasn't there

think harry redknapp fancies him a bit

I'd like to see him at Spurs and think there's a reasonable chance of that happening.

He's under-rated on here: mainly the usual sneering at any player not playing for a big club nor in obvious demand by any of the current top 4 Prem clubs.

Would he better for Man. Utd than Nani for example? You know he would.

no he wouldn't
downing is not a good player at all
might suit spurs though

Nani is yet to learn the ways of Manchester United imo. He has far more talent than Downing and has already shown more of it.
Sneering? Not really, more an accurate assessment of Downing's potential. Your Tottenham are about his level.

no nani is too good for the smoggies
i would be very unhappy if we even considered signing downing
he simply isn't good enough for manchester united
My Nani for 'Boro comment wasn't especially serious, considering that Boro will probably be relegated, but surely you have to admit that he been pretty disappointing?

Downing would deliver for you far more than Nani is ever likely to.

He is going to perfect our original plan - Downing pinging crosses into their Andy's forehead.

It could work too. I wouldn't really know because despite forking out 55m on it, we never really tried that tactic.

We tried it on quite a few occasions. It was just that Andy was never in the box when Downing 'pinged' in his crosses. He might have speeded up a bit though since he joined West Ham. Or Downing might have slowed down. Either way it might just work out this time.

The way i recall it is that they were rarely on the pitch together. And when they were, downing was on the right cutting in.

Plan B usually consisted of pulling Andy off and only then peppering the penalty area with crosses to shortarses.

Deliver us to mid-table, perhaps.

Is there any other poster in this forum that has failed more in his predictions than Glaston? The best is by miles that Rafael won't ever be half the player Walker is, but there are a lot of others.

Anyway, Liverpool finally deciding to cut their losses on that shit player that for whatever reasons has been rated highly in England for many years. No surprise at all, Rodgers seems much better in in/outs than Kenny who was really clueless.
