Steven Fletcher (the other Fletcher, not Darren Fletcher) switch - imminent

Really surprised Liverpool didn't go for him, his finishing is miles ahead of everyone else in their team and you would think they'll be able to attract him more than Sunderland.

They couldn't fork out less than 10 million for Dempsey so doubt they could have afforded 14 million for Fletcher.

This. And surely they needed a striker more than they needed another midfielder in Joe Allen?

It just wouldn't make sense to sell off Carrol and spend so much on buying a similar type of player in Fletcher. A Fletcher, Bent, Carew or Heskey imo would add more value to a club like Villa, Sunderland or likes than to a bigger club where the expectations are high and particularly in terms of Liverpool where it's deluded.

Levein has seen sense and called him up to the Scotland squad.

Finally. Levein's a strange one, either relentlessly stubborn or making knee-jerk u-turns. It's only a matter of weeks since he said it was over for Fletcher for this campaign and asked everyone to move on. Or look at the reactive way he listened to the fans in changing his team selection after the Serbia game
