Great presentation and harsh result in the end @Ecstatic. Really loved your team and you probably just paid the price of putting such a young defender on a critical position.

But, brilliantly put together and enjoyed reading about your side.

Thanks for your message but the issue wasn't Kimpembe, the guy who kept Messi and Luis Surarez under control :wenger:

It was simply an 切腹 or (腹切りif you prefer, a conscious draft suicide with the WM to ensure a guaranteed exit.

I could have gone for a typical 4-4-2 with a left-back like Juan Pablo Sorin/Abidal. I have considered other options like Byrne (watched 20 minutes the 1967 FA Cup Final) too but difficult to assess.

I only remember one game won by a WM tactics and managed by the legendary @Annahnomoss who applied the following strategy:

1st step: create a draft in which voters have to rate Swedish players of the 50s and run a draft in which players are rated on the basis of their performances at the WC
2nd step: take all the great Swedish players who played in a WM formation
3rd step: you know it is challenging a 100% Swedish back 5 so take Rijkaard and Voronin for the left and right half positions
4th step: make 150 posts to sell your story even if you're losing easily
5th step: pray to win 15-14 against EAP and his christmas tree

In this draft, everything has happened as expected from A to Z so I'm perfectly fine.
- I got all the star players I did want with Greaves sacrificed
- 1st time I picked all the players
- the room for improvement was narrow given the constraints: Alan Hansen was the only missing exciting player. Hernandez is stronger than Kimpembe but he difference isn't so huge.

I agree that he's under-rated on here at times. Not sure if I'd place him head and shoulders above the other most similar b2b mids like Pirri and Tardelli, but certainly in the same conversation.

Sure, they belong to the same boat. Let's say I'm more familiar with Viera than the others.

I don't think that anyone properly sold him yet, you know, one of those anto/Joga-esque posts that suddenly makes an overlooked player fashionable.

Pirri seemed to get overlooked at first. Maybe my misstep for not selling him, but thought his status was relatively assured.

I picked him 1 or 2 times. His status is assured but no better promotion than a video pirri vs team

Not much time these days to properly look into it, but top discussion and presentation lads!

Appreciate the effort @Ecstatic and well detailed profiles and unorthodox tactics idea, keep them coming!

Well done @Invictus @Jim Beam ! good luck going forward.

Thanks but the presentation/involvement of Jimvictus is great too so please vote for Jimvictus because of my defence.

Otherwise, it would be unfair.

Thanks.

I have only watch a single full match of Rush and it was the European Cup final in 1984 so 1 game is not sufficient to draw definite conclusions

I will rewatch tonight the goals of Drogba and Rush.

I am sure our Welsh specialist @BeforeKeanetherewasRobson has an opinion on this matter.
Over ten yards, Rush was pacy... longer runs not his thing.

If I wanted a forward to never give a CH pairing a free second, I'd choose Drogba. If I wanted a goal, I'd choose Rush..... never switched off in games, 1 in 2 (at all levels). Great goalscorer.
