Spurs in for Suarez?

What a completely illogical assumption.
It's not an assumption nor is it illogical. It's a stone cold fact. There's nothing I hate like obvious hypocrisy. We've seen so many players make professional fouls in last ditch gambles to save their teams and be treated as heroes by their fans and called ''clever'' by pundits. But now its different in Suarez's case just because the sentimantlists wanted Ghana to win. Any player or person who claims they wouldn't make a last ditch gamble to save their team in a match as important as the Ghana vs Uraguay one, if given a chance, is an absolute liar.

Dont be pathetic, of course its an assumption. And the problem with that is, its taken from the perspective that everybody is like you, when I dont know anyone like you. Thats not to say that lots of other, different people, wouldnt still do the same thing. They would and others wouldnt.

The whole handball business should really have been put to bed by now. Players get yellow cards in almost every game for cynical fouls stopping counter attacks which could lead to a chance on goal, Suarez got a red card and gave away a penalty for stopping a certain goal. It's how the rules are laid out, and he played the chances for his country and won against the odds. If that action was against the spirit of the game, it was no more so than those cynical fouls against counter attacking opponents we see almost every game - that's what the rules are, the players play them, Ghana should really have scored the penalty anyway.

Suarez is quite the twat admittedly, but I think he could do quite well in England. Spurs don't seem to be all that settled on a striker. Defoe seems to be their best bet, and while he's good, he's also pretty small, and that limits the ways in which they can use him. Crouch, Pav etc. are all handy in their own right, but not complete enough for a top table side. Suarez is like an upgrade on Robbie Keane on good form, and he did Spurs a lot of good for many years. I definitely think he'd improve them. Which is exactly why I hope he doesn't end up with them.

What is pathetic is for people to pretend they wouldn't save their team in such a fashion given the opportunity. That is why the rule for sending off people for such behaviour was put in place. But for people to act like Suarez did was such a ''horrible crime'' is truly hypocrtical. It's Ghana's fault they didn't win, most especially Gyan's. To hold it against Suarez that he cheated them out of anythng is laughble in the extreme.

And the problem with that is, its taken from the perspective that everybody is like you, when I dont know anyone like you.
O yes you do. You are human being and so am I. That already makes you like me even if you hate the idea.:p

I agree with this to be fair, although its probably unfair to say that everyone would have done the same. When you have a potential prize like that on the line then obviously players will do all they can to gain an advantage. The rules provide for situations like that - he was sent of and Ghana got a penalty. Those are the rules and thats the game of football. I doubt that people would take such a view if it was a United player in the CL semi final, England in a major championship or if it was the Germans or Argentinians who were the victims.

People also ignore the obvious fact that in the heat of the moment he wouldn't be the first to do something rash on instinct in what is probably the biggest game of his career.

Its easy to condemn someone but a lot of people, and even more professionals would have done the same.
